Off course I expected P51's they are amongst the prettiest things ever built.

Though I'd love to fly a B25 Mitchell one day, thats my all time favorite.

after that come the Vought F4u Corsair and the P38 Lightning..... too bad they are less around.

I have been to Duxford many times my wife sleeping in the car and me drewling over these birds.....

Im just in love with war birds! What an era to live in, My dad was a LT colonel army air core, flew b17s in the 82 bomber group.

Ya, i forgot about F35. But after that one, probley manless after that. The F22 does the slow flight and "cobra" is done useing thrust vectoring.

Heres a bunch more

Nothing better than seeing these old planes fly.

I fortunate, in that where I live I routinely get to see the Battle of Britain flight during the summer months, flying off to various shows.

To see a lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire in the air really makes me proud. And the sound of a Spitfire, there's nothing to beat it!

Yes it does, The apachie a36 was the first version of the mustang, It had the lower horsepower packard/allison v12. Our good friends from the U.K, gave us the Rollsroyce/merlin 55,56,57,66 engines and we started building them as well. North american redesigned the A36 apachie into the p51-d in 30 days it went from drawing board to flying prototype. Wth drop tanks they could finely escort the bombers, and they were 100mph faster then the ME109s and shot them down in droves. Its a good thing the ME262 came along late, Or it might have been a different storie.

I was surprised to discover that the Mustang was designed and developed by NAA for the RAF, who had asked them to make the Tomahawk under license. NAA said they could develop a new plane quicker than setting up a facility to copy the Curtis built Tomahawk.
