custard~SPARTA~
Apart from one evening whenever we have tried this our performance and therefore everyones enjoyment has suked. I think we delude ourselves if we think we can win many Company battles or eventually any Clan Wars battles unless we can at least learn to win a few Juniors. I don't want to turn this into some sort of Ultra Tactical stuff we need it to be fun, we don't need anyone put off. I think we need to work out a balance of useful tanks for us to use (accomodating anyone on TS with us that has a limited choice of tanks) and practice some simple plans with one one person at a time deciding on the basic tactics and have a bash at it. Any ideas? For example one thing we have done in the past is for one or more of us to downgrade our choice of tank a few tiers just to allow drop ins to be in the battle, maybe we should decide what we want to go with and anyone not on TS has to ready up with a tank we would like them to play with or they don't get to battle. custard~SPARTA~
I am bringing this up again for two reasons 1. We don't play together enough, platooning just doesn't cut it 2. The videos Viii posted about using concentrated fire and teamwork etc In the videos and in tank companies they are all using the same tanks because they are the best at that level and teamwork is easier if all the tanks have the same speed etc. It is not fair to expect everyone to have an IS7 so we can play together but almost everyone has the ingame funds and slots to have a blinged out T28, PzIII or SU26. These are the 3 most heavily used tanks in Junior Tank Companies. Do you really want to play together as a team? Then get at least 2 of these tanks in your garage equip them fully and get the crews to 80%+ so they will work well. Watch the vids Viii posted as well here is a linky http://www.legionofspartans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10287 Obviously if a new player does not have the slots or xp to get one of these tanks we will be able to fit them in and join the fun but I really see no excuse for ppl like me who have a teir 8 gold tank and teir 10 tanks. custard~SPARTA~
I recently bought back a PzIII it says I played 120 battles to get the crew to 100% some of those were with a different crew played a long time ago so it doesn't take long to start on secondary skilz Viii made the point that to be really effective we would need secondary skilz, I agree up to a point but with a 75% crew all of us on TS and all with the same tanks and our current level of experience in the game we could do well in Jumior Tank Company battles. 63% winrate it is a good little tank at teir 4, I have gone with the5cm KwK 39/L60 gun it does have a gun that may suite the Derp lovers but I found it too innacurate for me. NoScream~SPARTA~
Are you saying Jr. Tank Co. is based on Tier 4 Play? so skill up with Tier 4 ? What is the make up of a Jr. Tank Co. ?
Cylawyer~SPARTA~
Custard, I am very interested in Jr. Tank Company battles, but you need to be clearer. Are you saying that only those three tanks are run? or that only those tiers? are you saying that a company should be made of only those three tanks, or that the entire jr. company should be comprised of one tank type and that one of those three are best? If I recall company battles correctly, you can only have so many of each tier. If that memory is correct, we couldn't all be one type of tank could we? I'm not sure it was clear to me what you meant. custard~SPARTA~
Junior games are made up of these teir spreads Heavy teir 4 Medium teir 1 to 4 Light teir 1 to 3 TD teir 2 to 3 SPG teir 2 to 3 Min 20 teir points max 40 teir points to make up a team Serious Tank companies only take PzIII, T28 and Su26. If we want to have an edge I think we need to use all PzIII or T28 and a couple of Su26s. It would help for practicing if all the tanks we use would be the same as per the training videos Viii posted. If we have a core of ppl with the primary tanks of choice I am suggesting we can take newer ppl that don't have teir 8 gold money machines and a large range of tanks with whatever they have in the garage. We tried tank companies before with too many different tanks this led to complicated tactics (slow and fast tanks don't mix well) and we lost so many battles it wasn't fun anymore. It is so much easier tactically if we all have (or as many as we can) the same tanks. If somebody comes up with a suggestion for a tank that can compete with the PzIII or T28 I am willing to get one and skill up a crew. Just for the record in Medium battles there is also a few favorite tanks amongst the pros and i am skilling up crews for that but it would be unfair on too many of us to jump in at that level just yet. I can put together a list of the current favorite tanks at all levels of company battles if anybody is interested.
Cylawyer~SPARTA~
I have my PzIII. Disgusted by the fact that I had to delve into a national line prior to finishing the first line I was working, but I have it. It is elited and gold camoed, emblems, etc. Bought with crew at 100 and am currently training crew in camo.
Cylawyer~SPARTA~
Btw, this tank really sucks ass. I cannot believe anyone thinks it is that good. Maybe my perspective will change as I play it more, but those are my first impressions. I'd rather play the American tier III, M2 MT.
custard~SPARTA~
Good man Cy M2 MT HP = 180 Speed = 43 Armour = 32/18/13 and 25-25-25 Gun = 13 rounds/min 38/100 pen 175/110 damage 2.3 aiming (top gun) PzIII HP = 350 Speed = 64 Armour = 70/30/50 and 30/30/30 Gun = 24 rounds/min 67/130/25 pen 70/70/90 damage 1.7 aiming (gun i use) Your stats on the EU server with M2 MT M2 Medium Tank 377 182 48.28% 48.06% ( 0.22%) 53.63% ( 5.35%) You are above average My stats on the EU server with PzIII PzKpfw II 146 91 62.33% 49.37% ( 12.96%) 54.79% ( 7.54%) The Pz wins 1.31% more battles than the M2 MT I think the average player will find it easier to play The first 40 battles I had with the Pz I had a suky 40%ish wr and I didn't like the tank, I have changed the gun to a more accurate one and tailored my play a bit and it is now uber fun to drive. The best news is the top gun is of the DERP variety keeping the gold lovers happy. We have to have a starting point with Company battles the ONLY way to play is with most of us using the same tank. As I have previously stated I would be more than happy to try a different tank and look forward to ppls suggestions, I honestly think there are better candidates than the M2 MT but I will give anything a bash if thats what we choose. custard~SPARTA~
Played 5 won 3 tonight. Thanks it was fun chaps. Maps played Siegfried Line, Murovanka, Sand River, Dragon Ridge and Airfield. What did we learn? 1. For me marking targets using the ingame thingumy that we practised is too slow and didn't work. Calling out targets vocally works better . I have an idea should we all change the primary icon over tank to show drivers name and we use that as target info? 2. I was way too slow choosing tactics we need to be quicker at that. 3. You lot are a lot better at this game than you think you are. Feedback? Cylawyer~SPARTA~
Would like to do so, but depends on schedule. Six year old son's Little League Championship game at 10:00 am, then drop him off at second half of chess tournament where 10 yoa daughter will be with wife, possible requirement to spell wife for rest of day (I hope not), clean some of the house in preparation for baby sitter, prepare for wife's work's christmas party, call cab, get dressed for party, go to party, get cab home while sloshed, escort baby sitter home (walk her four houses down and across) walk back home, have sex with wife (if she isn't too out of it), go to sleep or get on computer for gaming before sleep. Now, If I can avoid the chess tournament duty, I'll be home for a few hours in afternoon. Perhaps I'll be available from 1:00 pm Eastern US until about 5:30 pm EUS, if wife will let me be on that long, though I may be cleaning house intermixed with gaming.
