Batwing~SPARTA~
Hi guys, Just about scientific research ok? No one take it personal I would like to compare our general performances to provide all with a decent comparison chart. I set the rules here, so it is fair for every one. This test take about 10 minutes of your time and I would appreciate as much as responses possible. RULES We will use FRAPS Benchmark Feature. Start FRAPS and check this pic to set your hotkeys and the folder where saving data. Be sure to checkmark MinMaxAvg and Stop benchmark after 60 seconds Then, let s start Arma and first of all set the Video Options - disregard the view distance here, we will set it later on the Online settings. Now let s get online to the ACE server, get the Admin rights and select TAKISTAN mission Sparta_ACERH_Tdomi_54g Once you are online and your game finally is ready and you just Spawned in Base, set your Settings Now, you are fully ready to start your benchmark From the Spawn position, Start your benchmark and wander around the base for 60 seconds. During benchmark you will not see the FPS on the corner of your screen, when benchmark is done you will see your FPS again on the corner when you see that, you are done. You can get out the game and go collecting your data. Go to the folder where you saved your benchmark and you ll find a excel spreadsheet with your result. Just copy and paste in your post here, with your system Info. Thank you all for partecipating to this experiment Edited June 19, 2011 by Batwing~SPARTA~

Hajimoto
Batwing - I recommend that you use a benchmark utility if you are trying to compare apples with apples. Please use the Single Player Scenario E08: Benchmark. It is a great built in benchmark utility just for test like these. In my video you will also see the results of EVGA Precision utility 2.0.3 which displays GPU temp, GPU load, GPU fan speed. I FRAP-ped my entire test as well as the video and audio settings, The results are here: [YT]OAMav2h12fQ[/YT] Test Result: AVG FPS 74 System: Intel Core i7 920 OC to 4.28 Ghz 6 GB DDR3 1600 GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ RAM @1590 MHz EVGA GTX590 OC CORE=700 Mhz SHADERS=1350 Mhz MEMORY=3700 Mhz nVidia GeForce 275.33 (latest) Edited June 19, 2011 by Hajimoto
Shadowjack~SPARTA~
Mine seems to be 36 fps during E8 Benchmark...as given by arma. FPS average seemed to be the same. Varies from 26 fps to about 50fps. AMD 955 Quad Core Processor. 8gb 10600 ram. Two XFX AMD HD5770 video cards. (Total 2gb DDR5 video memory on cards). Donziboy2
Btw if your using the EVGA Precision tool you can set up your fan to follow a temp graph that you can adjust and it will speed up or slow down depending on temps. Batwing~SPARTA~
Ok, I benchmarked with the E08 Benchmark now: AVG 26 FPS Then I benchmarked with FRAPS for the first 60 seconds of E08 Benchmark and Fraps reports: Frames: 1814 time: 60000 min: 18 max: 46 avg: 30.233 System: i7 920 @ 3.7 Ghz 6 GB ddr3 RAM ATI 6970 core 900 mem 1400 ATI cat 11.5 EDIT: I decided to give a lil bit of love to my 6970, so I OCed a bit: 950 / 1450 E08 Benchmark: Avg 32 FPS FRAPS benchmark on the first 60 seconds of E08 Benchmark: Frames: 2286 time: 60000 min: 18 max: 63 avg: 38.1 .... MedicSN6
My result: Benchmark: One difference (I used 1920x1080 for both Res and 3D as 1920x1200 was unavailable) Frames 1766 Time (ms)60000 Min 26 Max 32 Avg 29.433 System: Intel Core i7 930 @ OC to 4.09 Ghz 12 GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator RAM @1488 MHz EVGA GTX470 x2 in SLi Core Clock @ 750 Shader Clock @ 1500 Memory Clock @ 1674 nVidia GeForce 275.33 (latest) My mission E08: Benchmark resulted with 18 fps After seeing some of the results here with lesser equipment, it occurred to me that I have a settings issue. Apparently my nVidia Control Panel 3D settings were all set to maximum and to override the game's settings. Most of the setting were far higher than the Very High settings in the game so I lowered the setting and selected "Application Control for as many of the options as possible. For those options that are not in the game, I selected on as the default (except for V Sync). My NEW results: Benchmark: One difference (I used 1920x1080 for both Res and 3D as 1920x1200 was unavailable) Frames 1988 Time (ms)60000 Min 28 Max 45 Avg 33.133 System: Intel Core i7 930 @ OC to 4.09 Ghz 12 GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator RAM @1488 MHz EVGA GTX470 x2 in SLi Core Clock @ 750 Shader Clock @ 1500 Memory Clock @ 1674 nVidia GeForce 275.33 (latest) My mission E08: Benchmark resulted with 26 fps. As you can see, a performance increase resulted. Not a huge increase but substantial enough to make a small difference. Make sure your global settings are lowered and the specific application settings are set to Application Controlled or the Control Panel will override the game. Batwing~SPARTA~
Wow Noob, Those are amazing results considering your CPU, its speed and the Videocard which is not even the top line! Are you testing at 1920*1200? The old Core2Quad @ not even 3 Ghz is kicking ass of way newer systems clocked at stellar speed. I am not into Nvidia, are your speeds on videocard OCed or are standard? What s your secret ? What do you smoke?
EL_n00biachi
No,my res is 1900x1080,so there's no wonder it is higher. My videocard is overclocked by MSI,it can easily get to 1Ghz with acceptable temps, around 70c max load, but itll start drawing over 300w....so its not a good idea :X Effective memory speed is over 4300Mhz... Edit: Cause of Batwings thrash talk about my faithful but old pos cpu...lol....i oc'd it...not that much tho...to 3.3Ghz,not a single fps increase....... EL_n00biachi
Halli, unless u have some recipe's to hide from the rest of the world....you should get teamviewer im sure theres no one that would mind checking your ARMA installation out,Teamviewer is a remote access program that lets someone else control your pc.....at any moment you can stop it tho...so its not like that person can do anything you dont want, and it is as long as you both run the program. SkeleTele~SPARTA~
1680x1050.... average was 48 my specs are my signature if my monitors were high res this number would be mid thirties i would assume. In triple head the game won't even move with all the settings maxed out ;) 11.5 drivers x-fire on VD only on 2000 Edited June 20, 2011 by SkeleTele~SPARTA~
