I was given a Kindle Fire for my birthday, I have never had a smart phone so my knowledge of useful apps is non existent.

Wifi Analyzer--shows signal strengths of nearby wireless networks in real-time. Walk through the house with it and figure out the best spot to put that Wifi repeater.

PDANet - Use this in conjunction with a computer, allows you to use your 3G/4G connection (if the Kindle Fire has one) on your computer. So if you don't have access to a wireless network or hard line, you can still get your interwebs fix.

 

Other than that, I mainly just download games.

Ok your in luck, I have Galaxy Note 10.1, like the kindle fire it's based on the Google Android Operating system (OS).

So apps I use on the note will not all be suitable for you as the note has a s-pen to interact aswell as the touch keyboard & finger stuff.

 

 

I got this because it was on special for £265.

I was going to get a Asus transformer infinity but @ £500 this is half price & very close with features.

Also Goggle, clever little app, point the camera at anything at it uses google search to Id the object, translate language text etc. Not 100% but again, it's a bit of fun
