This game was such a dissapointment It looks beautiful and handles nicely (bearing in mind that I'm not normally into flight sims, so was playing arcade mode!) Unfortunately the multiplayer is nigh on unplayable. It uses the yuplay system (never heard of it prior), which has crashed the game every single time I've tried to log in for MP. It really does hold so much wasted potential

Steam is now showing the UK release as the 24th!!! I'm sitting waiting with this pre installed and ready rock and roll, couple of days gettign to grips with it and I'll be up for a co-op game.

That's me DL'd the Ace pack. Is there an exe file in the pack or am I going to have to unpack it myself? I also need some guidance as to whether or not this is going to work with the Steam version of OA. I'm off to bed the now, but I'll check in tomorrow and maybe catch some kind soul on TS that can walk me through this!

Hi All, So what's the deal with this Ace Mod? Does it improve gameplay by adding realism? Does it change the control structure? Does it add weapons / vehicles? I notice that Zeno's got the links up for DL on another thread, do you reckon it's worth running for a casual Arma Player like me? Thoughts and feedback would be appreciated folks.....

I'm supposed to be saving for a wedding next year too. I might just have to siphon off some of the funds for a few games off that list......maybe even a cheeky wee CPU/Motherboard/RAM upgrade too. Here's hoping there's still aweeding on once she finds out! LMAO

I'm still a bit rusty, so I'm not gonna dive in at the deep end this week. Another couple of sessions with yuo guys on the public server and I should be good to go for next friday though!

Cheers Idan, it didn't seem to be a GPU issue. I'll still be utilising those tweaks though ;)

I had the ammo box lock up/kick happen to me last night on the OA Domination server. First time it's happened, normally my system freezes before the game does. I was going to load Stingers into a vehicle at the FOB and got kicked. Normally that's not been a problem, even from dropped ammo boxes....

I've been using steam for about a year and a half now and haven;t had a problem with it yet. I've run Arma 2 from it and I'm now running OA from it and am experiencing nothing but the usual CTD's that I get with my crappy system. I have heard of some issues installing mods with the Steam version, but I've yet to cross that bridge. Saying that, I've probably utterly jinxed it now and I'll log on tonigh to find Steam has deleted all my games and somehow infected my PC with a virus!

Personally I've never found the rules on the public server too restrictive. As someone else pointed out, although it's a public server, that doesn't give people the right to do as they wish. The rules as they stand give people enough operational freedom to overcome the tasks. I reckon enforcement is key, although I've no idea how that's managed within the server.

I've been missing my Friday escursions with you guys, moving house and lots on at work, but I will be back at some point! I'll get the mod downloaded in preparation.
