  1. I just *knew* EA would get me eventually. I purchased SW:TOR on Origin, they processed my CC transaction and then...nothing. No email. Calls to customer support are fruitless. So much for that idea.

They are very slow and customer service only works during standard work hours.

No word from EA yet, but of course it is now Sunday. Hopefully, I will hear something tomorrow.

  2. In the vernacular of American youth, "hooking up" means to have a sexual encounter. Welcome to the States, Watchy, and no thank you.
  3. Roach, please be more specific with your next post title. Simply seeing the name 'Frank' brings back bad memories for some of us.
  4. Good news, Noobiachi: we get Arma 3 this year. Bad news: the world is supposed to end. Kind of a mixed bag. Happy New Year to all!
  5. I also have to extend my thanks for the people that have responded to this thread. SW:TOR is one of only two MMOs to ever really catch my eye (the other being Guild Wars 2), and the comments above have bolstered my determination to give it a good try, albeit not until perhaps mid or even late January. Even if I don't play for more than a couple of months, it does sound like it will be a worthwhile experience.
  6. Once everything is up and running on the private servers, would you be so kind as to post/link to a "reminder" about what mods we need to play? It's been far too long since I last played here, but I know I'm going to feel the itch over this holiday season.
  7. I was invited to participate in the closed beta for Diablo 3 on November 30th. I finally got around to installing the game on December 16th. The following is video of gameplay footage using the Monk character. Diablo 3 beta gameplay
  8. If you're a fan of classic PC games, you'll probably want to check out the sale going on at GOG.com. All of the offerings at GOG are DRM-free, so once you purchase and download games, you can re-install them an unlimited number of times (in theory), and you can always go back to GOG to download them again if necessary. This is great opportunity to play some classics you missed out on the first time around (I personally recommend the original X-COM), or to reacquire games you once had but have misplaced over the years. Link Posted for your convenience:) GOG.com
  9. Well, maybe we "normal" players will now have the opportunity to catch up to your BF3 stats.
  10. More first-world problems: The 2TB drive I use to back up my Steam games is full.

  11. Batwing, my guess would be that the issues will be patched. My cousin got it for free with his graphics card, a GTX 560 Ti, and it runs great in DX9 mode. Of course, it's a Steam copy, not Origin, so maybe there's something about the Origin version that's screwed?
  12. The Steam Autumn Sale has hit me for almost $100 bucks so far; I'm anticipating another $50 or so before it ends. I also helped a family out that was looking for a cheap upgrade to their home entertainment options. We ended up getting them a Samsung Blu-Ray player that had Wi-Fi capability with firmware that allowed for access to things like Netflix. It was on sale for $79, and I helped them set-up a Netflix streaming account, which costs about $9/mo with tax. They are loving it. P.S. I always carry pepper spray into Wal-Mart, although I've found that rednecks are mostly immune to it.
  13. Speaking of: Oblivion just went on sale today on Steam. $6.50 for the full "Game of the Year" version, offer ends on Thursday.
  14. If budgetary considerations don't come into play, I would say just get Skyrim. As the latest and greatest in the series (or so everyone says), you're getting the best version of the Elder Scrolls experience. If money is a concern, consider getting the "Game of the Year" edition of Oblivion. The game still holds it own against anything that's been released afterwards. It's $20 via Steam, even less when it's on sale, and easily offers enough content for 200 hours entertainment--in a single play-through. If that's not enough, there is so much user made content out there that Oblivion could be the only game you play for a year.
  15. Based upon personal experience, I would recommend staying as far away from chickens as you can. I made the mistake of watching a video about Skyrim yesterday, because I came *this close* to ordering it on Steam. Fortunately, I was able to resist the temptation. I am absolutely, positively going to purchase and play the hell out of Skyrim--once the Game of the Year edition for it has been released.
  16. I second that sentiment. I needed the break as well, and am looking forward to digging biggerer, betterer holes in the ground soon.
  17. This was on the US server. I did play a bit on the UK server one day and that session ran well. That game started with just a handful of people; I remember Sarrok, Dai, and Watchy were there, along with myself. Within perhaps 30 minutes there were as many as 24 people playing. I'll give it another go on the US server soon.
  18. I tried to play, but the lag and rubber-banding was so bad that the game was unplayable. For example, the lag placed me back at spawn after I had already driven a vehicle over 50m outside of the deployment zone. And that was with only 6 people on the server, myself included.
  19. I went out to the side of the road to retrieve my trash cans that had been emptied out earlier today. There were three cans, so I had to make two trips. On the second trip, I realized that I was moving my right hand (my mouse hand) left and right as I was turning. Definitely time for a break.
  20. The one problem I had was finally fixed: I could not use any of my unlocks. From Rank 1 to Rank 13, I was stuck with the default loadouts for each kit. After each round, the game would show I unlocked such-and-such equipment, and my stats in Battlelog showed that I had unlocked equipment--I could just never select it in the "Customize" section of the game. Apparently a few other people had this issue. The fix for the issue was simple: disabling cloud saves in the Origin client has resolved the issue. If anyone else has had this problem, I would recommend trying the same.
  21. Yes, due to the screwy way that EA manages the accounts for all of my games, I could not use Fatal_Papercut for my EA/Origin account. So SpinState it is.
  22. I have Jordan Landing, the South Jordan location (114th & State), and 54th South & State (Murray) all within 10 minutes from my house. And the 21st South location is only 20 minutes away. I am surrounded by Best Buy.
