just trying to catch up on DR news and i'm reading a lot of ppl cancelling orders because of no dedi server being shipped with the game. i'm guessing a dedi .exe will be available sometime soon? anyone know? the p2p mutiplayer sounds like it would be a problem.

steam prices are crazy, £35 on steam or £18 for DVD....

seems like the server has been pretty much at capacity every friday so i don't think the sparta's should remove friday tac.

didnt make it back in last night sorry, shame i missed out on the verteran mode. Phisher just made a good post there. i think ppl were/are joining on friday and just think the server is exactly the same as every other night, even amazingly after taking over a town with good comms and organisation they still come out with "what we waiting for" during discussion (sorry that winds me up a bit). seems to be getting better each week though. i'd be more than happy to play veteran every week if it is more controlled.

as far as i can tell, that's what he has done: "copied one of the faces, pasted it back in the directory noted above, and renamed it face.jpg" but like you said that's all there is to it. easiest thing i can think of is to post a screenshot here of your C:\Documents and Settings\Edward Stern\My Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\??Ebden folder

the majority of towers at least sit on the floor, especially in the workplace. i'm interested to know why you might think its a bad idea, especially mentioning your carpet thickness 0_o . mine sits on the desk because it's easier to get to. re spillages, i always spill my drink on my desk rather than on the floor, so floor is safer over here . if you ever knocked the tower then it's much better falling on it's side rather than off the desk checked out 6 pc in an office that had been flooded, you could see the water mark inside the case the psus were in the bottom of the case and all the pcs were switched on when the room was flooded. amazingly all the pcs worked after been left for a couple of days to dry out. i thought all Dells were evil, but they appear to be water proof

there is another issue other than traffic management there dood. virgin support can tell you there and then on the phone if you are being throttled or not, this is the only way you will find out what is happening. virgin support newsgroup ( virginmedia.support.broadband.cable ) is 1000x better for support than their phone line to asia, ask luggage or rizz for the info becasue ive forgotten that newgroup stuff. other than that sign up to the 50meg, you get put on a different network so oversubscribing wont be an issue and there is no traffic management at all /edit sry for the seemingly obvious question but this is cable right? not virgin adsl? it's just ive never seen anyone not get the advertised speed from cable. traffic management is a pain in the ass, but you have to play it right, it's crazy to give you a connection that you can reach their traffic limit in about 20 minutes, if you have xboxlive or stream high quality vids then you are pretty much screwed. i believe their total daily limit on the 10Mb is about 65GB, but that's impossible anyway with the traffic shaping haha. i still think you get a better deal than the majority of providers that give you crappy adsl and a low daily / monthly cap.
