Hunter~SPARTA~
So what's the latest news in the tablet market? The wife's laptop is about to crap out and I need to find a replacement. We have two desktops and a netbook already (that still work fine).... so was thinking a tablet to fill the gap. She really only uses the laptop at home to surf the net while watching tv on the couch. So don't need a real laptop, don't even need 3g, just WiFi. - JHunter

Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
I can attest to the Toshiba Thrive. I bought mine a month ago (i think) and it's perfect for what your wife wants/needs. The only drawback I see is that the keyboard is a little laggy, but otherwise it works great. It's also really hard to see in direct sunlight, but so are all other tablets out there. The connections alone make the Thrive worth having over the others.
NoScream~SPARTA~
I did alot of reading on the top contenders & I too conclude the Toshiba Thrive is a daddy of a pad. Full size HDMI pot Full size USB2 port Full size SD slot Mini USB port 16GB SSD LED capacitive 10.1 screen Std power connector Sweet dock for next to the bed. USB HOST mode. Android Gingerbread. 3.1 Stereo speakers (well placed) 3.5mm headphone jack with controls. Screen rotation lock switch. User changeable battery. Spare batteries available. User changeable back cover in various colours. The only thing it did not have was a 3G sim slot... I like it.
