I just read a review on the CNN website about the horrible DRM thing ubisoft put on this game. this DRM just makes an issue for a honest buyer to play the game, because the best part is that the DRM has been already cracked and "pirates" are happily playing the game while honest buyers are not !!! Furhter more, this DRM thing implies a permanent connection to the Internet to play a game which is a SINGLE PLAYER !! What the heck Ubi is doing ?? This way to make busines just makes me sick.. and other funny thing, the game to work needs to connect to the Internet to a Ubi server to be authenticate, so you know what, some Pirate got pissed at ubi and attacked the server. result: Server was attacked by a "service denial" and went down for the full weekend. buyers were not able to play, while pirates who hacked the F***G DRM were happily playing.... oh well, i want to play this game, but i m not gonna finance with my 60 bucks Ubi idiocy... maybe I will have to find an "alternative" solution...

Aargh !! I am drewling now !! all my desk is wet !! Wow.. they really changed everything graphic -wise, it looks so more realistic now. Ia m wondering if they are already using a few settings coming from the ACE version to improve waepons realism and stamina (see how charachters are walking?... maybe they got the massage..) I have V 5 and i love it. Difference between the 2s (4 and 5) is in the higher precision with a higher resolution. However i can t say the real life difference because I never tried the 4 before. I find the 5 resolution very high and precise, but you need to use it to get use to it. Good thing the software allows to handle many aspects so you can set a comfy level of reaction to your moves. I use it on Arma2 and on LockOn flight sim and is quite amazing. SUGGESTION: If you are using a BIG screen, this gadget will result uncomfortable. I am using a 37" at the moment and I got 2 major issues: 1- setting it on top of the screen is feasable but can get to an inclination that may result not good to set the right movements with your head 2- considering how big this monitor is, I already move my head just to look the entire screen, resulting in unvoluntary moves in game. I decided i am downsizing my screen and i got a 26" which will be way better for playing games - I had the 37" because I was using it mostly for HD tv and blu-ray through the PC, but my config changed and I am moving the 37' in another room now. With a normal monitor size I m gonna enjoy the trackIR way better

I got this problem today, and others with me. Kal tried to help with no luck. Message says server is running 319 (which is not, Kal confirms server is running 316) and says I have 316 (corrct, this is the one I m supposed to have), so version mismatch, I cannot play. It looks like a server bug, so I would suggest bto not mess up ure config trying a wrong update. The server needs to be rebooted and probably the bug goes away.It already happened before and the server rboot solved the issue. Noone knows why is doing that.

I also think is a great improvement. About tips, I have the 5, dont know if software is the same. My version allows u to to modify almost every aspectof responsiness, however I didnt mess up with that too much. I find the 3 basic prifiles good for me. I think u just have to be sure u feel comfy with ure moves. It takes a lil bit to get used to it. It is so realistic that change the way u r used to play the game. I like the zoom capability but that adds some difficulty, however without disbling it, u can still use the mouse one to zoom steady. I wanna see if i can get fully used to it, becuse i use it in flight sim and is very useful

I have to get the PC version. This game is all performed in Italy and as good italian guy, it s a must for me to have ! I am planning to get it soon, then we can discuss all about it

wow, This is pretty interesting I ll give a shot soon, i guess.. and looks like the best way to get connected is that program they suggest, Tunngle or something similar, better than Amachi. I ll keep an eye on this, thx for the heads up !

Fatal, this is remarkable of you anyway. I thank you very much for this effort, figure out i do not even own the game yet ! However, what cooncerns me is the position from EA/DICE to set a solid limit to how many customers they want to have to enjoy the game. I don t get the marketing sense of a such decision. Instead to be happy they are getting a great success, possibly overcoming CoD MW2, they prefer to offer a possibly "mediocre' experience - hoping ppl interest will drop (????) - instead of opening up a larger number of allowed connections. I would like to meet with their managers to know where they learnt to make business and I honestly don't think is a matter of money, because EA sounds pretty solid. So, if is not money... why? This scares me a little bit...

Well, great support guys I love these threads However, if he enabled the BIOS and is going through a format, that could be also the cleanest way. If your daughter has important files as pictures or music or what else she want to save, before formatting, unplug that drive from that PC and plug it into another PC to have access to the documents and back up all of the stuff you want, then nuke it You could do the same if you have a Bootable CD to start that PC without using the onboard OS, then back up the important stuff.

I couldn t go on internal because my PC is loaded inside, but about resource usage or latency... The difference is latency between wired and wireless, but I do not believe there would be any difference between this USB and an internal PCI

Oh My God !! have u seen that video of the MS journal ???? That thing is freking amazing !!! ok, is a video.. but hey.. if they are going to have that thing working like that is the most beautiful piece of lil hardware I ever saw I don t know if you heard around Apple sued HTC phone maker because they say infringed at least 20 patents on phones (iPhone), like having multi gesture, swiping stuff apart and so far and so on... Well, Apple targeted HTC to give them hard time and trying to delay their production of Android phones, because is the closest phone OS to the Apple one -- which is not even belonging to HTC, but to Google, however Apple didn t have the balls to sue Google directly. So, i was wondering looking at the MS Journal how many patent infringments there will be there, considering is swapping all the stuff around like an iPhone or iPad. I really wanna see if Apple has the balls to sue Microsoft about all of that. What they did to HTC is so ridicoulous... and unfair for a free market.

Great presentation. On the video, i love the way they take care of particulars. The way they built that tree is amazing, so I hope they keep that quality all of the way through the full game. They don t sayy, but i think they channged the engine because graphic looks so more realistic now, and maybe that is the reason why is an "expansion" which needs to be a stand-alone. Heavily modified graphic engine, becomes a new game. About portability, I am not a Modder and I have no idea, but as a logiic thought, i would say.. so far the engine can read the scripts as instructions, those will be portable. Graphic stuff and various LODs, i start to think about a different engine will not recognize those textures. I could be tootally wrong. However i have a feeling that there is something radically different to perform this new graphic level. I hope they will work a bit better on the AI. I love Arma2 but I cannot play the Single player because the Artificial Stupidity, and i think it s a real shame.

In case someone still plays this... i do Check this out: http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ The actionmapper is a little application in Java thhat allows to set all of your commands the way you like wiith no manual ediiting of the XML anymore. Is great and simple, finally I got my Joy to work the way I like !!! Throttle doesn t work on the slider yet, but I assigned 2 bottons (accellerate and decelerate) and is working great. Actually I am using a config Joy with left hand, mouse with right hand, having Mech direction on X Joy axis while kkeeping torso twisting and full aim control on mouse for better precision. Firing groups are on mouse and all of the useful Joy bottons are mapped to not use the keyboard anymore. However I still use the keyboard when being a BA. You can playy around with the actionmapper and find the config that best fit for you. First of all backup the actionmap you have, and then when u save the new one, "overwrite" thhe old one. Have fun

I have only one concern about these kind of MOBOs and is very related to the Videocard issue. Look at the layout. They handle to put 4 PCIx 16 for potentially 4 cards, but think at the real life application. I had this issue with my P6T Asus and i was quite pissed. They put the PCIx 16 slots too close to each other. Nowadays "monster" cards are all dual slot, so it always ends that they stick to each other TOO CLOSE. Especially if you have 2 twin cards, the fan will be located right in the ass of the second card, not having room to ventilate and getting only hot air from the backplate of the second card. As a result you primary card will get overheating like crazy, very incline to get fried and there is really nothing you can do about it. It is true the MB can handle all of tha horsepower, but your videocards will not and you will have serious issues. Think what happens if you really wanna put 4 MONSTERS there. Is going to generate so much heat that there is no case able to keep it cool. Maybe some liquid solution, but then u have to go liquid for the videocards and it sounds a huge pain in the butt to me. As a result, i would go with a way more conservative layout on a MB hosting max 2 PCIx being sure they are well spaced between themself. A great layout was the Maximus Formula from Asus, too bad they didn t make it for the i7 socket. Great MB.

Ok, i guess we have been on this subject already, but i am curious to see something. Is it me.. do I have a problem to lead my fellow AI and teammate... or in single player the AI is completely idiotic? There is no way to coordinate a tactical move. The do not go where thay are supposed to, if you get shot the medic does not cure you not even if is a 5 mtrs away.. This is the most frustrating game in single player i ever saw. Did anyone notice the Artificial Stupidity i see every time i try to play this game on the Campaign or I am missing something? How is possible the AI is so stupid and then we have fun when we play in multy? is not the same script leading the AI in general? Is the multy AI level improved or is stupid the same ? When i play multy, the AI doesn t seem stupid ! Let me know, i am very curios !

EMT, Please post a few info: - OS - catalyst vers. Then: what procedure did you go through when you installed the card. Situation may differ depending on OS you have. Visit the AMD/ATI driver doawnload page and be sure to download and install the most recent Catalyst 10.2 for your OS and card Before trying any driver install you should totally clean up any previos version. Procedure is different depending what OS you are using. There are no reports on Internet about Arma 2 and HD5870 incompatibility, then this is a matter of wrong installation, wrong driver, other issues local to your machine. With some patience we will be able to pinpoint each one possible issue. Dont get in "panic mode'. You got one of the best cards on the market, you are going to enjoying it. Period.

Hi guys, I noticed there are a few of decent servers online to fly FC 112b version. If you use Hyperlobby it s easy to find those servers. I was wondering if there is anyone flying or interested to fly and possibly having some nice and serious training session and then having some fun on those servers. I am not a great pilot, but I am decent. However to have fun I see once again the teamplay is a must, so maybe sometimes we could have a flight together Let me know
