Morgan
Yes the Demo is officially released and available at a demo downloading site near you. http://files.filefront.com/ArmA+2+Playable...;/fileinfo.html http://gamershell.com http://rapidshare.com/users/LRSUL6 http://computergames.ro/en/downloads/viewi...rma-2-demo.html http://www.v2.fi/pelit/tiedostot/947/ARMA-2/ http://games.on.net/file/27690/ArmA_II_Demo http://www.gameswelt.at/downloads/demos/14...A_2_-_Demo.html http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/14657/ArmA+2+Demo BTW a couple of people so far have had a launch error with the demo: "Demo failed to launch, X3DAudio1_6.dll was not found" You need to make sure you have the latest Directx 9 Redistributable installed: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en DirectX10 does NOT contain the file ArmA is looking for. Also available as a torrent so you may have better luck going that route. http://legittorrents.info Edited June 25, 2009 by Morgan

Xross
11 hours left........ I highly recommend using File Planet. Even if you wait in a queue for a bit the DL will be very near your full bandwidth once it starts. Enjoy,
Halli~SPARTA~
File planet was so over burdened that I could not even get in line. 22% now @110kb Ah I see it is back up so I will do both and see who wins. Fileplanet is rolling good now @ 42% 83% Haha Just about the time I get it running the D2D full game will be ready. Hum I hope it gets better with Co-op, The movenments are kinda strange. Morgan
I would agree with your assessment, Halli. I found the game to be intolerably 'bouncy' in Single player. However, Dai suggested a few tweaks to both graphic and game options that may help. 1. Turn off/down the Head Bob in Game Options. There is a slider you can turn this off with. This really smoothed out the game and also seemed to help with the awful movement blur in the game. 2. Adjust the game and 3d resolutions so that they are the correct value for your monitor. 3. Turning options off and lowering video settings may actually work against your video card. Dont assume that lower is necessarily better. I turned on anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering and the result was a much better looking and feeling game.. your mileage may vary.

Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
Had a chance to play it a little last night. It looks promising, although I've gotta learn all the tweaks in the video options, because things look a little strange on my system. We'll have to figure all this out as we go. Or has it fooled you all into thinking its a NEW game not a remake of the old one still in DX9. Im not impressed. Call me when a good one comes out in DX10 And not anouther problem. Morgan
Umm... the audio file in question is part of the DX9 installation and does not come with the DX10 installation. Thus, if you dont have DX9 you wont have the file. Has nothing to do at all with whether or not the game is DX10 compatible or not, the file was not part of DirectX10. Athlon64~SPARTA~
Sounds to me like they are remakeing the old one and trying to get milage out of that old game engine. I can run JO so it should have worked. I really don't want to install DX9. I want DX10 games. But I might bite the bullet and try it anyhow. If its crappy-out it comes! Morgan
You need the user version. The SDK is the developers kit.

T_1
See ya soon, X That is very good news T.... glad to hear you will be able to run with us in ArmA2...looking forward to seeing you in-game. Unlikely. It runs like a donkey heading for the glue factory. When I said runs, I meant barely (16 FPS Everything low). What I did find surprising was it doesn't seems to be much worse than ArmA I'd still be looking for a new PC to play it on, and finances won't reach to that. Morgan
Single Player does run low frame rates. Try it on Multiplayer.. the game is optimize to give better performance in MP.

Punisher~SPARTA~
Installed and gave the demo a brief spin. After finishing, it gave me the exact opposite feeling it was supposed to. This demo made me not want to buy the game. The bloom was ridiculous, the motion blur was excessive and all in all it just felt like it handled poorly. I know there are fixes for the first two in the full game, but I was just underwhelmed on how it played in general. At the moment, the game is a wait, then buy in my book unless you all have good news on how the full version plays.
