custard~SPARTA~
Elvis put a post in about were is good to visit in the UK a while back and after a day out today I had some thoughts. If you are planning to spend several days looking at Historical stuff you could do worse than look at the National Trust site and choose several to go too. You can take out various different memberships of the trust which make it cheaper. All of the sites have a rubbish shop and overcharge for food in there restaurants but you can allways take a picnic (some have beautiful areas to picnic in) and not buy anything. Some have links to all over the world, today we visited Cliveden http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/...ace/w-cliveden/ which was a hospital during WW1 for Canadians and has a memorial garden for those lost inc a couple of US infantry many Canadians and others. The last family to own the house was the Astors and they have many links to the US. Membership does not have to be taken out in advance you can turn up at a Trust place and get membership on the day. Elvis~SPARTA~
Our visit has been postponed due to the dollar being worth a dime and the twins arriving without reservations. That being said, I do look forward to visiting in the future and appreciate this.

Sopris_EBDA
Go to Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, and Fort William all in Scotland. I recommend taking the steam train from Fort William over to Mallaig, its a great ride, and great scenery. And if you have never been to Inverness, then go, its pretty and at least you can say you tried to see Nessie.
