I thought it would be when reading the forums some posts claimed you should put aside 2 or 3 hours to play a session but from what I am experiencing not at all, maybe the long sessions are from playing the higher level Port Battles that I know nothing about. You got up and made post at what time!, must be a very great game Woke up couldn't go back to sleep mate. watched some youtube, looks nice Graphically it is pretty damn good the water looks awesome. In the open world and during sea battles graphically it is stunning even the smoke from gunfire the way it drifts is good I have actually caught myself stationary in the middle of the sea just watching the different sized swells you get. We are learning/ranking up quite quickly on our own and already have help from other players dropping in to our PVE battles to assist, the crafting element is quite interesting but trading and exploration requires some work they have added smuggling recently no freaking idea how the mechanic works but I am sure we will learn. In a very short time we are going to be large/rich enough to just gift new player's ships now personally I think that's a bad idea because they would miss out on a great learning experience but whatever. We had a visit just off our home island (Jamaica) by Pirates the other night Samurai and I got a bit excited about some PVP action but in the battle the Pirates ran away there is massive amounts of PVP if that's your bag. It's not all roses one recent update made it too difficult to sink ships of the line and they are having to fix this with a patch tomorrow the biggest problem by far is in there wisdom the developers made Pirates a faction the same as all the others with the added benefit you could join them without losing everything you had whilst playing in the other faction, meaning anyone who gets disaffected with their own group drifts toward Pirate combine this with the Hollywood Jack Sparrow wannabes and the Pirate faction has grown too powerful, the developers are trying to address this. Some also wouldn't like the idea of a server wipe (as it's ALPHA) it wouldn't bother me as the grind to earn XP/Gold does not feel like a grind it's fun. Can I request a section in our forum for Naval Action please if anyone we bump into wishes to join SPARTA we will give them the usual spiel directing them to forums etc, there is actually has no solid benefit to joining a clan within the game apart from maybe comms and trade so we can build up a community without the requirement for TAGS. I guess it was a no brainer that with my interest in ships of the era this game was going to appeal to me if it doesn't do the same for you watch a friends broadcast via Steam you might change your mind it has been said it's like Elite at sea IMO it's far more than that the fighting is leagues better and the grind for Gold more varied the only thing better in Elite is the exploration element is fantastic.
