Skaz~SPARTA~
i'd try and combine this with a amd board and possibly a crossfire 6990. then you would have a mean ass pc.

Donziboy2
Well I will say they have the pricing right, the one they reviewed on tomshardware was between a 2500k and a 2600k in price and performance.
GySgt~SPARTA~
yes the thing with AMD is that crossfire is a must Nvidia will work but you will lose performance from the card

Batwing~SPARTA~
From Tom's Hardare one, I think this says it all: But by the time it emerges for the enthusiast market, AMD will probably have to contend with Ivy Bridge, armed with advancements of its own. This isn?t a good thing. I want to see competition?a battle that keeps both Intel and AMD innovating. Does today?s FX invoke the Athlon 64 FX-51 that compelled Intel to rebadge a Xeon and come up with the Extreme Edition moniker back in 2003 just to compete? Not really, no. In fact, the chip giant didn?t have to do anything at all. Its nearly year-old 95 W parts fend for themselves without even a price adjustment. Again AMD is doing a good job, but is still just 1 step behind. When will be ready, will still 1 step behind because Intel will be out with something new. The example with the FX-51 is perfect and I d love to see again that kind of competition, but is not there yet; and at the end, the concept still is the same: Do you want top notch performances and you can pay for them, you still go Intel, are you on a budget and want respectable perfrmances, knowing you get what you pay for, you go AMD. And I do build AMD machines for ppl, that just depends on their budget and on what they want and really need ;) It s all good I have an AMD myself as HTPC and I couldn t be happier

Athlon64~SPARTA~
Well that clown in the review didnot say what type of ram, and at what freq its running at, and every thing IS set to stock settings. Or if the Bulldozer is set at 4 or set at 8 cores running. And what will it over clock to before flying off the board. Ya well my 426 ci hemi will only run at 200 hp with a 2 barrel carbuatior on it at stock settings. But i drop in a high lift cam and 2- 4 barrel carbs on a tunnel ram intake and a magic 600 horsepower appears with setting the timeing at 4 degrees before top dead center.. That is like setting all the bios at automatic and wonder why it won't run. The bulldozer will run at 4 gig in the 4 core mode stock. It is unlocked so with some better cooling, i wonder what it could run to. But with all the frame rate locks in the games all of them will run about the same. The intell runs about the same, becouse it has AMDs hyperthreading controllers. And most of it is limmited to the buss speeds on the boards.
