I plan not to buy another COD, hell I even left out the last one COD5, SSDD.

We can only wait and see what happens with COD v OFP but my monies on OFP.

:)

I have to agree mate, compared to the pre-game Arma vid's that came out this seems better, it's going to be down to gameplay in the end.

Arma 2 has come out of the box as we thought it would like a beta release and not the final item, will be fun finding out who got it right in the end.

It may be that there are both good for different reasons so we get a win win situation, fingers crossed.

These screens look alot like the GRAW2 shots that were prettied up. Very nice, but I'd like to see what the gameplay is like.

I talked to one of the DEVS, he said it was taken direct from the PC version, no alteration.

As for GRAW2, that was a lag feast extra, I never got above 35FPS & when a GL came in I use to get 10-15 FPS

GRAW2 like GRAW1 is a boxed in game some 200x200 meters max.

This game is running 27000x9000 meters, using a third gen of the GRID RACE GAME engine which flys compared to GRAW & GRIN's dated lump. I remember it in editor mode, You had to export, render, compile.....

OFP2 in editor, one button press, your live into the game, like FC2 editor but no a scale 10X

GRID ran fine on 8800GTX and lower, what ever it runs like it will be a vast improvment on GRAW but like you say, maybe some of the GRAw memories will come back as the color pallet seems to follow GRIN's gritty style. :)

I actually loved GRAW2's color pallette and the way the character moved. Everything else sucked though, unfortunately. I would say that the perfect game would be a Ghost Recon style of gameplay in an enviornment as big as OFP and ArmA. The game looks beautiful, I just hope it runs well. Hopefully it will run like GRID and people don't have to spend $1,000 just to play it.

Was there anything said about how the online play will be?

PC version in multiplayer mode, 16 against 16 players support, together with three

fellow AI per person will be a total of up to 128 soldiers. Console is 4 v 4 with 3 Ai per

player totaling 32. From E3 news release 2009

60 weapons and more than 25 vehicles (China and USA) From E3 news release 2009

So PC default before scripting is 32 player PM + 96 AI, each player can take 3 AI in a fire team, this is one of the multi player options. Storyline is 4 player or 4+ 12 AI. Details of Coop has not been published along with other modes.

The game has multiple modes inc. HARDCORE, here is a poor quality video

from E3 of the game in ARCADE MODE.

http://www.jeuxvideo.tv/video/operation-fl...tml#view:288082

THE VIDEO is of:

A special short playable mission for E3

It is on the X360

It's in easy (arcade) mode

It's 99% in GOD mode so the players can progress @ E3

It clearly says W.I.P. (work in progress)

The background music is from other Exhibitors stands.

Americans don't all have American accents.

The island is the small sister island to Skira (not Skira itself).

Airstrike (fire for effect) can not take 20 seconds (it's a special for E3).

Nice video, looks like ARCADE assist is on directing newbies in game, footage was poor quality & X360 but overall what I likes:

The chatter not over done like in ARMA1/2.

Radio chatter very good, after playing ARMA & the robotic radio & AI call outs this is better.

GL (grenade launcher) anim, spot on.

AI seem semi intelligent

I liked the accents too, too many games pure American canned chatter.

AI command system look simpler to use than ARMA that I use to play, which is a good thing.

Map mode, again impressive compared to ARMA2's old fashioned take.

Weapon sounds, top dollar !

just too little to get into it but overall impressive, grass looks good & AI respond well, from what I saw.
