Yes America is unfair $200 difference. I say save on your memory and go GTX ! You won't look back.

if you go 29xx pro you will always be thinking about it.

ahhhh money!! well i would happily buy the GTX if i didn't have to get a PSU as well. the Bestec (http://www.bestec.co.uk/) won't cut it, think they use hamsters on wheels to run them or summit. might be worth waiting till after xmas then. just want a nice setup for the release of crysis really. and i like the whole HD and 5.1 sound that the ATi card offers cos i am hooked up to my HD TV

Not confirmed because its not out yet and my rig on the test (1 x 8800GTX) was halfway thru recommended so fingers crossed.

New Nvidia cards due Nov ... So they say on some places.

The reported 98XX cards will blow the current 88XX cards away like double the performance and entry price is believed to be under $600 US.

So .. Yes you might be wise to wait till after X mas.

And i doubt you would see any great improvement from 512 to 1024 ram ... It's all E-Penis factor for kiddies .... However Crysis is not out and tests are yet to be conclusive.

2 things, the bull shit that a 9800 will come out this year for sub $600 US

and second, you want to build a system for crysis but you sacrifice the main

component (8800GTX) for a sound card & PSU.

Get a lesser PSU and use onboard sound.

The CPU & GPU are the 2 most important items.

9800 for sub $600 Nov 07 (vapour ware)

lets see in 45 days, 22 Nov 07 ?

to recap 8900 GTx ? $600 lets see

This thread is going nowhere

KDC you start by asking if it's worth paying the extra £45 for the 1024Mb version of the HD2900pro, if your willing to go to that price then like others have said, go for the same priced card

The 8800 completely buypases the cpu time stamp so it won't be slowed down buy the cpu at all thats how it gets its great preformance. not sure about the raidon card. Crysis will be in high deff and direct X 10, And I beleve I read some where that if your going to runn 2 8800 in sli your going to need a min of 800 watt p/s. I did hear that the invidia 9 series will be out later this year. And of coarse the more ram the better.
