I do play it sometimes. I like to play with ppl I know, that s why I left it aside lately... I didn t see u guys around anymore. However, I also invited 2 friends of mine from Italy to join us on TS3. Their names are Nokia (with a number, can t remember..) and N'Sallanuto. They are avid mechwarriors and play the game very very well. Soft english skills, but very good guys (over 25 ;) ) I can be on in the evening after 9 pm EST. If you are around it would be very nice . Your poinnt is totally right Viiper. However when i will decide an upgrade, the 400 - 450 bucks range is really OK, so I will be happy with that. Unfortunately I do not really see Nvidia selling a lot of 4xx cards, for the only reason they have iissues to prooduce them. I hope they solve the issue, so possibly will make some market competition. At the moment I am an ATI guy and i ll stay like that However competition on the market always help us

I agree about Samsung too. Also I think their products are very stylish and look great in a room where guests can be around and admire that piece of tech

Wow, this is beautiful. I wonder if i can achieve that level of graphic without a DX 11 card. I m not planningn any upgrade soon, my CF is a good kick ass at the moment. Oh well, we ll see When you get stuff like this is like when you watcha blu-ray disk, What s the sense to have a blu-ray if you don t have a great TV and a very good digital sound system? I hope 5870 or 5970 will drop their price a bit in meanwhile.... ;)

sorry, I know nothing about your router issue, but in general commercial routers like Linksys, Asus, D-Link etc by default do not block the game ports. BFBC2 should work fine without a manual port forwarding. Double check any other security program you have on you computer instead. Most of the time the so called "Security Suite", see norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Zone Alarm etc. are a pain in the butt when it comes to authorize programs to access the Internet. Also some Antivirus have sort of internet security. Plus Wiindows ask to authorize the internal Firewall for any program try to communicate. As you can see there are many layers before your communication hit the router. Before starting messing with the router, be sure you check for these layers first. My suggestion is to disable any security program you have, one at the time, and test your connection. At the moment you see you cann connect, you found the program responsible for the lock down, then work on thhat program to set the authorization related to BFBC2 Not sure this suggestion mayy help because I have no idea about your issue, good luck

True Speedy, however is also true to say that another way to have some decent weapon without cheating is playing with your squad, where probably the other guys are way better than you (or me), and go in formationn, as soon as ure teammate dies (it will happen way ooften) you can pick his kit from the ground, enjoying the improved weapons and opticals. Also true that your moment of glory will last probably less that a minute, before you die again and respawn with your standard set on peanuts. However really, this is a game oriented to fast action and ranking, there is not much more you have to try to give to it, just take it for what it is. Again, when u play wiith the Sparta guys, there are many chences to have teamplay, which enhance the quality. Problem is in this game how often cann you play, look at my stats and you will understand. If you have no tiime to stay steady on it, your progression will be very slow.

Lol... probably I ll give this a shot With my controversial hate/love for this game, I think this will help me to get some better toys, but then, there is a side of me feeling like I m cheating a bit... and then another side who would get jsut bored like hell running around a map more than once just setting bombs... I dont know, problem is.. do i feel more frustrated dieing every 20 secs on a crowded server, mybe killing one or two bad guys and NOT makng points OR is more frustrating running around alone map after map just to accumulate points? Oh well, we ll see but something is true, I was quite excited when finally I unlocked my first assault rifle

My 2 cents about this: I am very new on it, so take my comment for what it is, I have only about 5 multiplayer sorties so far. I do like it BUT there are a few things I am not used to: 1 - Is crazy fast. You can call it fast action, yes, nonetheless is really fast. 2 - I ve never been too much a fan of unlockable skills and weapon related to the "experience" factor, because I have no time to spennd hours on a game in order to achieve some skills allowing me to survive more than 30 secs after spawn. Better guns, explosive skills, better bullets etc. all of this comes later on, you start mostly as a third world class soldier with a sling and a handful of rocks to throw to the enemy. I know this is the way these games are played and this is the reason why I never played BF, COD4 - 5 and similia before. 3 - Unfortunately, due to the bove point, the few MP sorties i had were extremely frustrating, with kill ratio as 19 deaths to 4 kills. True i m not the best shooter, but ii think in general I can do better thhan that. Again, you have to suck it up and playy and play hours to achieve thhe skills you need to start to be coompetitiive. --- True to say tho.. either I do suck at these games (possible) or you need hours to gaiin skills. I m quite sure many other honorable Sprta players do not agree with me on this, but this is just my point. However, whhat I really do like is: 1 - Graphic and environment, is just amazing. Sound is fantastic and although it looks like you are looking a movie wiith the fast forward locked in ( did i mention is "fast action" ? lol), the experience is beautiful 2 - playing with the Sparta team makes any game experience better. There is opportunity to team play. Probably thhat requires a few hours of experience as well to learn maps and paths and do it together, however this team makes the difference - Honestly, if i didn t have the pleasure to play with all of you guys, this game foor me would be already on the shelf. With that said, I do stick better with Arma2 class of games to have a full armory available, use my skills when I can and enjoy a normal pace on game. My question is, WHY do not make a game looking like BC2, that graphic is superb and destructable environment is a blast, and apply the style of game of Arma2 ???? That is my dream game really.

I do agree the about 100 degs makes it quite real, without pushing a sort of hack. However, the way Fov is implemented in this game is very smart and may avoid an abuse of it. If you notice, the FOV applies a sort of zoom-in / zoom-out to your view, giving you more of the surrounding area. This involve that objects in front of u get smaller. So, you want to have more lateral awareness, you need to trade frontal focusing, translated in possibly more difficulty to hit something att long range because it becomes really small (without scopes). I think this is a very smart and realistic trade-ooff to handle the FOVV adjustment. If you are very accurate with tour aiming/mouse, having an high FOV will not be a problem, if you have minor accuracy and you need to clearely see your target, probably you have to adjust your FOV depending on your real needs in gamme, better than a real human FOV. ... God, I finally set up my desk after the moving, mayybe ow I will have some time to come online and try this game !! lol.. See ya

Great !! you got me too !! I am buying riight now ! You know whatt, I am not a big fun of the shooters run 'n gun, but i do admit they are fun and sometimes they can be played with a good teamwork. Now, reading alll of what i am reading from you gus, i see as usual Sparta players embrace teamwork and is rewarding in game. If you still have problems forwarding ports, consider to flash your router firmware with a most recent one, sometimes it helps because they improve some functionality

Remember before you take any decision... Nvidia had a big problem with this chip, is a production problem related to its size and most probably to its heat. They are making a big noise about this chip, but so far the only info out there are very controlled demos. They look great, but they are not real world. Check for a few reviews about how the chip really works in real world especially about the heat before you give a shot to this "new marvel". Possiibly waiit for the card out and real comparisons to the 5970 or 5870. You might ending with a new GPU with problems for the same money or a bit more than a choice for a 5970 which has showed is working flawlessy.

Hi FP, I ve been usiing my PC for gaming AND mediacenter because i had your same situation, big screen and BD option. I did set up a pretty good enviironment and i am very satisfied with my solution and i can give you some suggestions: My set: LG BD reader + Logiitech z5500 Now, take a look here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....51&name=5.1 Altough I love the z-5500, their sound is amazing and the overall qualityy very high, you don't need to go up there. Point is, you want to have 5.1 if you want to enjoy a BD. This is a must. Do not underestimate the sound quality, because BD is a greatt HD experience, but perfect video is not all, u need to have very good sound to really enjoy the show... it would be like having a Ferrari in garage but then you have no money to put gas... BD audio quality is amazinng and you want to listen to it. Reason why I got the Z-5500 is due to the fact I use it also in connection with my HD-DVR box when I watch HDTV. HDTV has digital dolby 5.1 broadcasting and only the Z-5500 has an integrated digital decoder,, so you can coonnect your TV box with an SPDIF and you deliver the full clarity of HDTV 5.1 on your audio set. To do thhe same with an home theater system you should spend way more money on a digital receiver + a full set of speakers, way more expensive. If you are not interested about this solution wiith your HDTV, you don t need the Z-5500, otherwise keep in mind this important difference. So, you don t care about the HDTV but you want good BD performances, then you need to chose a decent 5.1. As you can see the other 2 5.1 sets are quite inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. They are barely 6 or 7 Watts per satellite and just about 20 W on Sub. If your rooomm is pretty small and you are not planning to "expand" anytime sooon, they should be pretty good for you. They would not be able to deliver in a middle size liviingroom anyway. I hope this little clarification will help your choice, do not underestimate your sound system, BD deserve something good for you to listen

I don t think this solution is good for a 2 monitor set. i don t really see how that may help. I have doubts on how it works on a trio also, but it could be interesting to try. On a correct trio set with eyefinity, you potentially already cover a good 90 degrees or a bit more in front of you and on ure sides, defeating the need of the TIR. On the other hand, if you slightly move your head, you might enjoy a larger field of view. true also to say that all of the other degrees of freedom offered by the TIR would be welcome on a trio set, indeed. Tilting up and down, moving side by side and zooming in - out are still very useful on a trio set to have.

I ve been playing on the non-passworded server and I had the laggy experience for about 1 - 1,5 hrs around 7 pm EST and at 10 pm EST. can t recall exactly how many ppl were on server, but it was not too crowded, 10 - 15 maybe? can t be sure... Other thing is when I start the game I always get an error message about a missing file. Is not always the same file and if I hit "continue" the game goes ahead and I do not see any specific issue.... Unfortunately in the last few days the standard Dom server is always empty, because i d like to test how life is there, to see if at the same time I suffer lag on ACE, if i switch to the normal one is still laggy.. True ACE is adding many perks to the game, but if i have to pay in enjoyment because the MOD is too heavy and lag, I am not sure if that is a great trade off..

Hi guys, I am not complaining, because all of Sparta does for us is always great, but just to better understand... Am Ii the only one suffering abnormal lag on the ACE2 server? I am from US EST, I didn t check my ping on it, but Ii fiind the standard Dom server way smoother. Here I see ppl warping away, Tanks appearing and desappearing, Tangos moonwalking... If my target is not standing still is quite impossible hitting anything, not even Tanks ! This is making the enjoyment in game quite poor. Also because while i cannot fire to a Tango, he can fiire very well on me, killing me very easily.... It is quite frustrating, is this a know issue or am I the only one suuffering it ?
