Dang Krambo taht I didn't see this thread any sooner. I use my old phillips 303 truntable, with a pre-amp I bougt, my soundblaster x-fi music and smart recorder. in this way you can keep the quality of you recording and MP3 it later. (after you have split the songs, named them etc.) I have about 350 albums to go and as winter comes I will do some during teh weekends.... those truntables with a USB plug usually have a bad needle (making scratches on you record) no way of balancing the neelde (adjust the weight at the back of the needle arm) and cheep components destroying the 96 bit sound depth that you have on vinil..... only my SACD player gives Santana, Pink Floyd etc that boost they need to really enjoy the music. but some days I just plug in the record player to my stereo....

I'm always planning to buy an electrical guitar, but I'd guess I hardly would use my pc anymore then... let alone buy game consoles and stuff.... my kids are beginning to get to the pc game age (eldest son is 8) but he's happy with my old AMD as zoo tycoon runs well on that by the time he gets mor demanding my core 2 duo 6300 will be outdated.... but heck I'll have a new rig by then.

whow that dollar dropped in value... or is it me...? geforce 260 humm well its almost best you can expect from a complete rig HP well its better than Dell, or IBM but nevertheless complete rigs always contain outdated components. If I read things right I'd rather ahve a 890 mb 275 GTS than a 1,8 gig 260 with shut down stuff... maybe it's tweakable to re-gain its functionality? dunno, but 1200$ I wish I had that money, would do a bit more I guess... On the other hand I'm stuck with the old core 2 duo line and ddr2 memory on my motherboard..... but hey I only spent 750? oops..... hope my wife doesn't read this.....lol

I am happy with windows 7, exept for one major dislike.... It won't accept a raid 0-stripe from my 2 750 gig samsung spinpoints F1.... The driver's won't be recognised, and creating a stripe afterwards.... don't think that'll work. Yes I know there is some risky workaround with a spare hdd, creating a setup and migrating it to the raid disks.... but I'm noob enough not to dare....

I took some pics this weekend, I'll see if I dare post them tonite got 2 machines on my desk at the mo 1 my old rig P965 core 2 duo 6300 2x 250 gig hdd, 2 gig ddr2 667, geforce 8800 GTS 320mb OC and my good ol 17"illiama monitor 2 my new (almost all ne components) gygabite X48 DS4 core 2 duo 8400 4 gig ddr 800, geforce 275 GTS, soundblaster x-fi music (will replace it with an auzentech one if I get the chance) cooler master gladiator 600 and the ususal gear Maybe I'll sell of my oldest 2 rigs 1 for free (AMD athlon 1600 1 gig ddr and rest unknown, some old ATI card 32 gig hdd?) and my other rig the AMD 3800 x2 with 160 gig geforce 7600 GT silent 2 gig ddr 5300 (4x512) in a micro atx setup. I was planning to make this rig in a htc case (media thingy) but the cases still are too expensive and I do not have room in the cabinet were my audio is..../my audio is so good, I won't connect it to an old pc.... lol

I expect monitor problems too, my monitor does 1680 x 1050 which isn't a natively recognised resolution in windows Vista. Nvidia drivers can overrule Vista, but Vista tries making trouble every time I startup....

Try www.blackfootstudios.com they are trying to build a GR worthy game but cannot find a publisher that wants to invest. All it takes are say 10.000 game enthusiasts to pay 30$ and you'll see..... Maybe we should ask Jstonedecker to advertise a bit around this hype and see if people are willing to fund his game.... the economic crysis has seen millions of people lose more than 30$ so why not....
