The folks at NSRDEC substituted a MOLLE medium frame for the ALICE frame. The ammo compartment now uses polycarbonate plastic instead of the original tin. Until NSRDEC can come up with a simpler, more cost-effective substitute, the ammo will continue to move through a 27-inch-long, $1,710 feed chute designed for the CROWS, which the Guardsmen had employed.

The cyclic rate of fire of 711 rounds per minute..... So you can empty the damn thing in under a minute......

 

 

Just think how much .223 you could pack into something like that :ogle:

This sort of set-up would be very fun in Arma2 for sure! I think the backpack ammo concept thingy has appeared every now and again for various guns. Here is a version for the Armalite A-10 shown in the video below (It gets introduced at 12:47ish but the clearest view comes in at the 13:00 minute mark):
