MH6~SPARTA~
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on purchasing this card today:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130590 Mainly because I don't want to be playing the BF3 beta on my GTX 280 later this week. I'm a bit outdated on the current graphics cards, but I feel the GTX 580 is one of the better choices, and I've always liked EVGA. Thoughts? Should I go with this or something else? MedicSN6
The 600 series cards are due out any time. this means A. you will have more options and faster choices. B. if you still choose to go with a 500 series card, they will probably be much cheaper. C. I don't have a C.

However, with EVGA I can step-up to a series 600 card if they are released within 90-days of my purchase. If they aren't, well...I'm not waiting that long to upgrade. I will most likely make this purchase, mostly on impulse, solely because I wish to experience BF3 in all of it's DirectX 11 glory. I just wanted to know if this was one of the better cards to buy as it stands currently.
MedicSN6
Sure, I would go with a GTX 580 by evga. The other possibility is to go with 2 GTX 570s which will run about 100 or so bucks more but you have two cards pushing which are better than one, plus if one fails, you have a second as backup to get you through the RMA process. This is wha I did with my GTX 470s.

To me 1 Strong card is better than 2 in SLI or CF (for what it matter) because drivers on multi GPU always give some minor issue and the massive extra price (almost 180 bucks in this case) does not represent that much of a performance improvement. NoScream~SPARTA~
Where is the confirmation of 6xx Series? I think it's next year now. The 580 is an excellent card. so it the 570.

MH6~SPARTA~
I purchased the GTX 580. I figured it was fitting, as I currently have a GTX 280. I will be using my 280 as a dedicated PhsyX card from now on. P.S. - That slideshow you linked is pretty awesome.
Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
Damn they're already up to 5-600 series? I'm still rocking my GTX 275 and it works great. Of course, I haven't been playing many games lately lol so what do I know!? Looks like I'll be investing in electronics in the next year.
Rooster90
Even the 200 series will do fine in BF3. For all the hoopla Nvidia is giving about BF3 (there's obviously money to be made with people upgrading) they're being a little disingenuous about the requirements. My friend had a 280 during Alpha and was able to play full rez on mostly high settings just fine (40-50 fps). That being said, congrats on the 580 purchase MH6! I hope it's worth it for you. I'll be sticking with my 560 until 600 series comes out. Then I'll either go dual EVGA Classified 570s or pay the premium of the 600 series depending on the price/performance ratio. Halli~SPARTA~
Yep 580 is top notch and will last you forever for several years and the fact you will have physx on a top 200 card I bet you'll be quite happy. Green with envy brother great purchase.
