NoScream~SPARTA~
If your going to use dual giga LAN, then I suggest a setup I'm using which is for high security. One Giga lan to the router & then to the internet/ modem end of. Second giga lan to a giga switch and then to a NAS (network storage) other machines in the system the same. The second giga LAN will have a fixed I.P. so the first one can not communicate with it, in effect creating a fire-walled bridge where only you as the OPERATOR can transfer data across. The system has the benefit of having a always on NAS (even while your P.C. (s) are off and giving you services from the NAS system. I suggest: on a buggest NETGEAR READYNAS DUO on mid point price NETGEAR READYNAS NV on a high end bugest NETGEAR READYNAS NVX / NV+ I run NV & NVX NAS units and they can preform several services for your house & other systems, like streaming MUSIC / VIDEO / PHOTOS, pulling files, brining in DATA from the net. My setup (All giga LAN) ON top of this I also use Logitech Squeezebox music system which is WiFi. In this system all PC's have access to all services & all data & all secure files, internet can not reach the secure area.
