custard~SPARTA~
If you're gonna spend that much money I would consider an SSD instead of the velociraptor, I am jealous mate
Batwing~SPARTA~
Good luck with the P6T SE. I am at the second RMA (third one installed now) and I hope will work. Of course it may be my personal unfortunate purchase, and I think it is, because I bought tons of Asus stuff and never had this issue ever, but anyway, be adviced. First MB was dead out of the box, second one died after 3 months... Also, keep in mind this MB has a quite poor design. If you are ever thinking to use a dual videocard set, the 2 cards will be too close each other, resulting the first one suck air right from the quite hot buttom of the second one compromising cooling performances, i was able to solve this issue, but only because the 2 cards I am using are not the same model, so fortunatly the fan is not located at the same spot on both. I had to play around and I was able to have it working decently. This is because the layout of the 2 master PCIx 16, too close one to each other. I would suggest you to look for a different model with a better layout. However, when it works, is a good MB

1VB_SARmedic
You can get a clean power supply for much less than that, modular as well. If you are going to spend $400 for the 5870 you may as well go for the $600 5970 which is double the card. Get a SSD for your OS, and a cheaper 2TB drive for your main, it will probably cost the same or less. You shouldn't need to buy a fan if you purchase the correct case. I have a $150 case with great fans, and it never registers above 32C. (It has the temp displayed right on the front.) You should be able to get faster memory for that price. I have a HannsG 30" monitor, which goes for less than yours. (Although I spent about $500 for it when it came out.) Still running great, and I highly recommend it. Overall, looks like a monster! P.S. I was looking to rebuild my computer so I am up to date on the latest equipment, and actually had all the components picked out but couldn't pull the trigger. They are probably still in my shopping cart at Newegg.

Rooster
Solid build... The twelve hundred is a pretty good case for gaming. Perhaps consider changing the PSU to the corsair 850w variant. They offer a better cost performance ratio IMHO. The 850 is really a seasonic unit (top of the line) complete with a yate loon pwm controlled fan. Perhaps add a new SSD (new ones are right around the corner, may even beat intel drives) instead of the velociraptor. Personally, I went from 4 raptors in raid 0 to two intel SSD's in raid 0... Windows 7 boots fully in 8 seconds, and ArmaII is very fast loading as well. Maybe it takes about 30 seconds to get into a map. Anyways an SSD will be the biggest performance improvement most people will make in the next few years. Great list, I hope you can make your dream PC come true! AlarmedBread
I think it would depend on your desired usage as if that is too much or not enough. For arma2? More than enough. It runs great on an i5 750, 4gb ram, 5850. At 1920x1080 Personally I would opt for a headset other than the g35, unless you've tried one and really liked it. I would not pay more than $80 for one either, if you watch slick deals they come down to 60-80 all the time. I have a tritton ax5.1 pro ($65) which I personally feel is a much nicer headset overall. Onboard sound is pretty impressive these days.
