Lightspeed~SPARTA~
As you may or may not know, I'm a GR diehard and I'm not sure if these have been made but I'm going to knock some up tonight. That is - a list of 10 ingame radio chat messages taken straight from Ghost Recon - I'll try and pick the 10 best GR sound memories but also the most appropriate for use on the battlefield. "Got a tank" "Over the hills and through the scrub" "I think we caught them napping" Anyways there are a lot of them, I'll go through them all - might even post a list here to see if others want them ingame. Might even convert and pack them all and ppl can use the ones they like. But tactically, I could put together a list of radio commands that are simple but highly informative for the rest of the squad. Will keep you posted. MedicSN6
You have to include such sayings as... Too Deep! I'm not going swimming. It's quiet, too quiet. You know... the good ones. ;)
Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
Is there a radio chat for "CORPSE MAN!!!"
Lightspeed~SPARTA~
ok so ive converted them but others cant hear them ingame. i wonder if everyone needs the same sound files to hear eachothers, although i have heard others in game b4. anyone know how those were set up? Morgan
The g36 in the Harntrox 4 mod had the most satisfying thump... ArmA2 has a decent version too...but nothing quite satisfied like the GR version.
Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
I'm Loving these custom chat sounds, but they're getting really annoying when people use them constantly in game lol. Maybe when the newness wears off. It's certianly better than CORPSE MAN!
Lightspeed~SPARTA~
actually noone can hear mine ingame so it might be a required download for each player. as it stands, it is a bit of a novelty which wears off after 5 minutes. but good use of Radio Messages ingame could be a valuable tool. Durka-Durka~SPARTA~
I agree, they could, and the OGR had the best messages of all. It must have been my imagination, cause on Friday night I swear I could hear the OGR radio. I'll have to double check that.
Lightspeed~SPARTA~
i did use them a few times - i can post a link to the pack ive made and you can try them - obviously its a beta and there could be better voices and text to use. wouldnt want to use to many though or it gets complex. In OGR we would typically use the following in numpad - Copy / Roger Contact Affirmative Negative Armor Sighted Enemy Sighted Medic - could be used in Arma2 Holding Democharge Set Frag Out I could easily pack these and distribute if Sparta would like to use something like this and they can be mapped to numpad. Lightspeed~SPARTA~
Ok here is the pack -easy to use unpack the Sound file to your profile folder. In game use backspace and go to Custom and you will see them listed. Roger. Enemy Contact Armor Contact Enemy Down Armor Eliminated Man Down - Medic! Democharge place - clear the area. Stealth lost - relocating Hold fire they seem like the best to use in game...and they do work in game. Download here - http://www.filefront.com/14429225/Sound.rar I am hoping to find a way to map the to numpad keys - so if you know the number you hit number and instant radio message. Lightspeed~SPARTA~
OK dooing a bit more testing - I figured out how to use Radio buttons properly. Before I used Backspace and scrolled with middle mouse - WRONG!! For those that weren't aware - Backspace > 0 (Radio) > 9 (Custom Sounds) > then choose from 1 - 9 to play message and display text on screen. I am mapping the most valuable Radio comms to the number 9 so that its simple and no hunting for the key. For example - Copy (very important comm ingame) = Backspace, 0, 9, 9 (no commas of course) Enemy Contact = Back, 0, 9, 8 I will figure out the rest of the order and post updated sound pack shortly. MH6~SPARTA~
Nice! So long as the server supports custom sounds, everyone will hear them, as it uploads the sound files to everyone. That's why I reluctantly deleted my Fortunate Son sound clips, it made loading take 10x longer But damn if it didn't make helicopter infils that much more epic. Lightspeed~SPARTA~
ok folks here it is - http://www.filefront.com/14436041/Sound.rar what i've done ingame to make it simple and effective is remapped the Bacspace key to the number 0 on the keyboard. so now to initiate the radio sounds is the folowing process - type 09 and the number of the corresponding radio command - Copy - 099 Enemy in Sight - 098 Armor Spotted - 097 Enemy Down - 096 Armor Destroyed - 095 Democharges set - 094 Medic - 093 Hold your fire - 092 Target located - 091 You can see that the lower the number on the right the less quickly you need access to that radio button. Likewise, the most important messages are closest to where you can give mesg quickly and with a little practice you could roll off "Enemy in Sight - check map!" in about .2 of a second with little thought about where the keys are. ie, 098. Anyway, try it if you like and see if it works for you. Lighty.
