  1. What the hell??? I just had AVG report a trojan in the WoT installer!!!!
  2. Downloading it, but it appears to be taking a while
  3. Don't turn off the UAC! At least not normally. If you have a lot of pissing around with files in the program files type areas then sure, turn it off, but turn it back on when you're done. Basically with Vista you have to learn to do stuff the way MS want you to do it. Put your files in Documents and stuff you do there won't need UAC. Once you've playing with settings and just want to use the PC, UAC isn't too annoying.
  4. Donate here The charities Watch the "Stop the Traffik" video This year I face the challenge of a lifetime. In a fit of enthusiasm I foolishly signed up to run in the Bristol 10k under the Love Running banner, to raise money for the poor, the oppressed and the needy. Ahead lies mile after mile of blood sweat and tears, and you can help me do it (or make me do it, depending upon your point of view). Now some of you may be asking just what's so hard about running 10k, but as even a quick glance at my photos (which clearly show my athletic physique) will tell you running is not my favourite event. In fact, anything which involves getting getting off my sofa and doing something is quite a bit of effort, and yes, I did eat all the pies. So, why did I agree to put my body through this torture and join Love Running? Obviously getting fit is a good motivator, but mostly it's about the causes. Love Running 2010 is supporting charities under three banners. The poor, the oppressed and the needy. Zimbabwe More than 80 percent of Zimbabweans live below the poverty line, and 83 percent live on less than $2 a day. The economy has considerably reduced the government and private sector?s ability to provide financial relief or basic health-care services. Stop the Traffik It is estimated that there are 12.3 million people in forced labour worldwide, of which 2.4 million are the result of human trafficking. That's slavery, to you and me. The modern slave trade is now the second largest source of illegal income worldwide, just behind drug trafficking. Shockingly, an estimated 1.2 million of those trafficked each year are children. We're teaming up with Stop the Traffik to take a stand against this injustice and help fund programmes of education, advocacy and protection - particularly for the most at risk women and children. Local charities Love running is supporting three local charities. Crisis Centre, The Noise and St Peters Hospice. Crisis Centre runs the Wild Goose cafe which was featured on Channel 4's "The secret millionaire" on Monday 1st march.
  5. Nice! Don't think God would be a .com though.
  6. I was thinking about this. On the first map I could see your mortar on the top of the hill, but had no good way to get to it. I think that I ought to be able to call my own counter battery fire down or something. I think the ideal would be if I could call arty missions myself as long as my D30s hadn't been taken out. Most of the time the opfor commanders view of the attacking forces is extremely limited, so the only way it would be effective would be if you sat still too long in a place I could see you, or if it was obvious I was taking fire from a particular location. This might also focus the mind of the overall commander to not get bogged down. Of course, I'd have to be able to send scout units out to locate the mortar units, which would mean a slight relaxation of the AO limit rules, perhaps for the opfor non-ai scouts. What do you guys think?
  7. This sounds good to me, but as someone who loves to fly I have a request. Take away everything but LGBs for ground attack, and make a CAP role useful. If there was a lot of enemy air power that needed to be kept in check then having either CAP or fighters ready to role to intercept to enemy air assets would be a good thing. Could we have one or 2 pilot characters in the game who are the only people able to fly jets, and can basically only carry a side arm?
  8. Beyond funny. Great find Fish!
  9. Watchy, this is a known bug with arma2 (and other BIS software apparantly) with 8GB of RAM on x64. I got this too. The solution is to add a -winxp flag to the ARMA2 command line. Hope this helps Sneaky..
  10. Durka, is the lhd mod available to download from somewhere non-members can access?
  11. I'm mostly an engineer guy, but I'll typically be carrying a DMR and either a javalin or smaw. You'll also find me flying quite a bit; either jets or choppers
  12. What's the betting that coffee table is a Microsoft Surface device? Looks cool, but I'm not sure about having to lean forward and over the table to change the volume on the TV
  13. Arma 2 Benchmark: 28 FPS Computer Specs: Intel Core 2 E6600 @2.2 ghz 4gb of Ram ATI 3700 512Mb - 9.4 drivers Windows 7 RC x64 my settings were pretty much the same as Durka's
