  1. Choke Explanation Great link on the basics of barrel chokes. The choke is a tube that goes in on the end of the barrel. Not all shotguns can accept them. Its all part of the research. They're also not completely neccessary. Just gives you extra control. Another great read: Link Edit: Sorry for not answering the first part. Yes, typically the longer the barrel the less spread. However, it's all relative as every gun with every different ammo is different.
  2. Alot of it is personal preference. Some people like heavy, some prefer light. Whatever you do, make sure you hold the gun before you buy it. However, you definitely do not have to spend as much as you will on the 1100 to get a decent starter gun. I think even walmart sells a remington 870 for like 300 and its fairly decent to start with (composite stock for bare bones model). Also, for skeet shooting a lot will have to do with what shot you use and if you can change the choke on the barrel. The barrel length is also a factor for shot spread. BTW shot = the bb's in the shell. All this has to do with shot spread. Breaking a clay pigeon only takes a bb or two, but to get that sexy powder break you need to have a tight spread and be on target. When you're shooting skeet make sure to stay on target or just in front through the trigger pull. Most people will have difficulty because they squeeze the trigger, close their eyes, and stop leading the clay. Also, practice your timing. Shotguns have no range and the longer you wait to acquire the target, the less likely you'll see effective shots. If you have any questions, let me know. Experience: Shooting winged targets for 20+ years including duck, geese, pheasant, dove, etc.
  3. Let me know if someone gets a lfd2 deal going. I think Arma 2 has finally fizzled out for me.
  4. I speak for myself, but I welcome some LFD2 regardless of the date's significance.

  6. If anyone is upgrading and trying to unload old/newish computer gear, I am in the market. However, with a boy being born any day now the funds are limited. I currently have: LGA 775 socket intel MoBo 1x Nvidia GTS 250 4GB Ram with 2 x 240 pin open Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4 Ghz) 500 watt power supply Anyone who has parts laying around which could fit my setup and upgrade, please pm me!
  7. I agree with noob here. I've given it a few goes and it has been a good experience. Often times on the way to areas I've run across large ambushes and enemy vehicles driving on the roads. I see a caravan with a few friendlies roaming about completing objectives as a very fun experience. Still a few bugs to work out, but this is a good mod. I'd be interested to know what can be done to prevent server crashes/disconnections and not lose all of our data.
  8. I'm pretty sure any phone would be ruined by dog piss. Fanboys exit stage left....
  9. Its one of the few tactics ive actually seen work. However, its still a crapshoot at this point. if the phone has had time to sit and moisture mad it internally, your chances of saving the phone may be slim.
  10. Itunes link Teamspeak just released teamspeak for the iphone. gonna cost 4.99$
  11. I'm trying to believe that the media is really cranking this up. They always do. But I'm reading that they are still going and areas outside of downtown are basically boarding everything up and trying to save their homes and businesses because its growing still. this is also based on accounts from london residents, but who knows. Anyone have any new news or is the media still playing this up.
  12. The fact that they are releasing battlefield 2 maps as part of bf3 DLC, gives me hope that this game will feature open ended maps with large team strategy.
  13. Dizko, did you find a workaround for the lag..my computer had a really hard time running this mod and im pretty sadface because I wanted to try it.
  14. You and Kal can go and tell me how bad it was.
  15. I cant wait to browse reddit tonight.
  16. The 357 sig and 40 S&W rounds are different. The 357 sig typically has better penetration and is louder than the 40. However, the 357 sig ammo is not as widely available as the 40 ammo so tends to be a bit more pricey. I think the ability to field change a barrel just adds to the fun factor in this case and not necessarily the practical factor.
  17. I know the pain of those across the pond having lived the majority of my life in New York; the land where the 2nd amendment doesn't exist. However, now that I live in Texas I felt it was only customary to buy a pistol with a child on the way. I think I might start a tradition. Also, I still can't believe I never looked into getting a drop in barrel for 357 sig ammo. I knew it was possible just never even thought about it. My only complaint on the piece so far is the tool to break it down is a pain in the ass to get out of the grip since its still new and tight. Once opened, the thing is easy as pie to clean and oil.
  18. Interesting, I was not aware of this.
  19. I have federal hydrashock's in the clips for home defense now. Just have to go back and get a digital keypad safe (no messing with key's). With any pistol, especially a new make or model, it takes time and repetition to get used to. My wife was plinking targets within minutes and I very much happy with the .40 i chose. It has knock down power and my wife is comfortable handling it. We went out to the range a month ago and she could barely keep the .45 ACP steady let alone accurately fire it. Ill need more time before I swear by the 40 S&W. For now though, things are looking good.
  20. Thats what happens when someone gives me 800 dollar cabellas gift card.
