  1. I am in NY with my main character using the hardwired build. I worked my way through the Vivian Conley Rogue Agent mission. I died once because I forgot to switch in a reviver, and died once more but was revived by the Hive. I have not changed anything in my gear so far, although it is disturbing to see how little armour I have in NY. Conley took forever to kill, the seekers had little effect on her. I just chipped away at her armour and hit her with the LMG, I almost ran out of ammo. The Base in NY is lost I got to the safe house where there is a stash but no recalibration station, I was hoping to strip the gear I pick up for the 31 to 40 Library!
  2. I did clear out my stash and all the characters gear after getting the best elements into the library. Haven't been to NY yet, will go today with one character. My sniper build seems much worse but I hope its still effective
  3. I thought the update was today, so I when I checked in yesterday at around 7pm, I was greeted by a 40+gb download. The download finished at 7am today, so I will check it out later. I have 2 days of gaming then I will be away for a week, so I look forward to a complete rundown of how to play and what to do upon my return.
  4. Hey Halli, Floyd plays Red dead Redemption 2, but he now also plays Division 2. As you may know they are revamping the gear when they introduce the DLC. There's talk of increasing the max level from 30 and simplifying the gear. They will be getting rid of Damage to Elites. I am not sure how I feel about this as I have finally got a pretty effective kit, but I do like the idea of having a broader damage capability. Does Pittdog still play.
  5. That's great, once you have downloaded it, I will help you rank up. Let me know your Uplay name.
  6. I ordered the Warlords of New York today. For me there are a few core games that I will pay full price for, Division 2 is one of them. This is because waiting a few months can net you the game for peanuts. But, as it happens, I got a 20% discount on the expansion.
  7. Great games Adder. SC2 is very hard and you are really on top of it. I can just about manage a choke point map with no air, long range arty or nukes. Just adding air units back can make it excruciating. Swarming seems to be the key to this game, but for once AI base defences are at least as good as, if not better than, what we do. Send in 200 bombers and none will return. It seems you need a lot of cannon fodder (land and air) to thin some of their defences, then follow up with the main punch of heavy units. It is hard work and quite stressful, inducing a lot of expletives. Good job I use push to talk, although that failed to protect you once.
  8. Cool. I practised against no enemies to sort out the tech tree and build procedure, before playing against AI.
  9. We had some good races yesterday at Spa. Rizz is 3 seconds faster than anyone on that track, luckily it takes him three laps to get his eye in and we only do 3 laps at a time and keep changing the cars, this gives the rest of us a look in!!
  10. There are different sized maps but it will be hundreds of units. There are good static defences though, but of course there is a counter to everything. The key seems to be research to get the biggest units and attack en masse. (basically the same strategy I always employ in all RTS games). Research is a critical element. There are research trees for land, air, sea, structures and ACU. Alone, you have to balance the research, this is what makes coop interesting. Because one player can focus on defence, structures (increasing point defence, shields, range and power) and say land units secondarily. whilst another player can focus on land and air (sea if necessary). Years ago we played 3v3 (all human players) and we only got through the defence build up, as soon as battle commenced 3 computers crashed! Anyway it has potential. I have played a few times alone, but I turn off nukes, long range arty and sometimes air and sea units.
  11. Does anyone play this, or have interest in playing co-op?
  12. That pack has some interesting pieces, I like the stairs and window wall.
  13. From the outset this game has performed poorly on PC relative to Xbox (At least for me). Originally the game only used one core and not very much of the GPU potential. It does use all the cores now, Today I can play with almost no problem, but I have to perform one tweak every time I play Forza 7. I need to disable the affinity for processors 1,3,5 and 7. Performing this alone eliminates almost all micro stuttering. However players have complained of a couple of other problems. Memory Leak Players who spend time manually upgrading their cars could crash the game by running out of memory, this may or may not have been fixed. Cache Windows 10 loads up the cache over time. When I start my PC, the cache starts at around 1.8gb, but it loads up to 8gb or more. Some people claim that this causes micro stuttering in games such as Fortnite, PUBG and possibly Forza 7. To fix this you can download software to empty the cache, some put this on a schedule to be performed every 5 minutes. I imagine the issues are sytem specific, mine is indicated below. CPU Intel I7-7700K 4.2GHz that ramps up to 4.9GHz GPU Asus GTX 1080 8192mb Ram 32gb I hope this helps.
  14. I will have to take a look at that. Here are some more views. This is a view looking back from the command seat of the Transport Eagle. Upfront there are 2 of Adders Liquid hydrogen tanks, An oxygen tank and a medium cargo container followed by the passenger seating. Next is the rear sliding door entrance. Lastly an external view, each thruster pod has its own O2/H2 production unit.
  15. There has been another update which includes windows and a control seat for small ships. This is my first cut at redoing a transport Eagle with a walk through cabin.
  16. Good races yesterday. I thought the A675 class cars were a good balance between performance and ease of use. The standard homologated Audi TTS turned out to be an easy car with which to extract decent times. With that in mind I tested a few different standard homologated cars in this class on the Hockenheim Ring. I did 3 laps with each and noted the best time. The laps were crude and definitely not clean. BMW Z4 08 1.59.846 BMW M2 1.59.030 Ferrari Cali T 2.00.025 Lotus Evora S 2.00.167 Mercedes SLK 55 AMG 2.00.721 Nissan 370 Z 2010 1.58.557 Porsche Cayman GT4 1.58.296 Pontiac Solstice GXP 1.57.253 I recommend the 3 last cars, not just because they put in a good time, but because they are a pleasure to drive, like the Audi TTS was (for reference I can consistently get 1.59 lap times in it). The Porsche was probably the best. The worst was the Mercedes SLK which is one of the few cars where the tyres were often yellow (indicating overheating) on braking. A car you should avoid (sadly for me) is the Jaguar F type. Although I can get consistently get similar lap times to those indicated above, I have to work much harder. It is just unpleasant to drive as an A675 car, this is because it is homolgated to the wrong class, The homologated F type is only marginally improved from the stock version, whereas the rest of the cars in this class have been more substantially modded. In any case it's horrible to drive, avoid it. To recap, buy the following:- Audi TTS Nissan 370 Z Porsche Cayman GT4 Pontiac Solstice GXP.
  17. We finally had a Sunday race using Forza 7 Motorsport. Only 4 of us but still it was a start. The closest races were in the 2014 Fiesta ST. It is not sim racing, but there are a lot of cars that you might own or desire. Project Cars tends to be outright racing cars or racing derivatives of standard cars, Forza has ordinary cars up to Le Mans prototype racers, with everything in between. You do have to buy the cars but the game offers a lot of opportunities to make money and win cars. The game is still on sale.
  18. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/forza-motorsport-7-deluxe-edition/9NSNSBW1JTJX#activetab=pivot:overviewtab If you buy it for PC or Xbox you have it on both platforms.
  19. I am sure this is of little to no interest to anyone, never mind. A few years ago I purchased a second copy of Elite Dangerous as an explorer account, since long exploration objectives take you away from making money. Floyd and I both bought explorer accounts and gave each other enough gold (using limpets) to properly set up an Asp Explorer, with a bit of spare cash. The objective was Sagittarius A, the super massive black hole thought to exist at the centre of the galaxy. In order not to travel the same route as everyone else I started my journey by heading a few thousand lightyears laterally. Then I stopped playing the game for years. The game evolved to the point where I thought I could not catch up. But luckily Floyd guided me through the new elements and I again feel sufficiently knowledgeable to play the game. Having achieved objectives set for my main account (mainly to put aside 5 billion in case the Fleet carrier becomes a thing worth having) I looked again at my explorer account. There was a bit of indecision. At first I maintained my lateral heading. Then I thought I would return to the bubble (Inhabited space) and reequip the ship or even upgrade to an Anaconda by sharing profits from my main account and Floyds. Then I changed my mind again and decided to head for Colonia where there is a base roughly towards the centre. After a 100 jumps I looked at the distance from Colonia to the centre and nearly gave up. There were still 450 jumps to Colonia but then it looked as though there might be hundreds of jumps to get to the centre (it turns out its 378 jumps away). The advantage of going to Colonia is that you can sell your cartography (locking it in) and if there is a catastrophe you spawn there as opposed to back in the bubble with all cartography lost. Then I found our there is a newish base at Stuemeae FG-Y D7561 (Explorers Anchorage), 550 jumps away and next door to Sagittarius A. So I adjusted course again and set myself the objective of doing 50 jumps a day, honking every system on the way and surface scanning water worlds and earthlikes that were a reasonable distance from their sun. Today I made it to the station, on the way I only went too close to the sun once, taking minor damage. I used a heatsink to jump away without further heat damage, I had anticipated more errors like this and carried 12. I sold my cartography making 249 million and increased my explorer rank to 69% pioneer (after another 31% in that rank I will be Elite. As I meandered around initially I ended up travelling 41,743 light years, 25,800 from my starting point, I visited the outer edge of the galaxy and now I am at the centre. At this station I can finally equip 2 SRVs. After I have had a look at the black hole and explored a bit around here I will head to Colonia to contemplate what more I can do with this account.
  20. It's not so much a question of money, I just do not want them until I sort out a dedicated racing/flying seat. I am getting older but of course I have not forgotten our old IL2 games together, although I would say I was the weakest of the bunch. I have been trying to get into DCS, but I struggle even with the basic take off and landing (I keep shredding the tyres), when I try IL2 I struggle to find the airfield. I am looking forward to MS Flight Simulator 2020. Eventually I will convert to HOTAS in Elite dangerous as well.
  21. I have a couple of older joysticks with integrated throttle. What they lack is buttons and switches. If you look at an X56 there are multiple hats, rotary dials, switches and triggers. This allows you to operate many space/ flight sims without moving your hands. I can fly most planes in FSX only using an old HOTAS, but if I try to fly DCS there are nowhere near enough buttons so I end up using the keyboard as well. I also need to buy Track IR!
