  2. Whoa, steady guys, the game is not the sort of game I would play but ANYTHING that increases the public awareness of MW and the chances of a release of MW5 is ok in my books. Haji, that video is nearly 2 years old now and there is still no news on a release so I wouldn't hold your breath for it.
  3. Happy Birthday Bud... Enjoy And of course, save the best till last.
  4. Ya know, I may be wrong here but as an experienced MechWarrior I doubt that game excited him too much. Don't get me wrong, it looks cool and I would probably play it as an FPS but it's not MechWarrior. It's too fast and frantic, there is no feeling of being in a huge Mech. Half the fun in MW was knowing you were going to get hit and making sure you could weather the storm and come out fighting. Planning and the right loadout in the Mechbay were key to MW. A wrong choice there (before the battle even began) could lose you the whole planet. I (as has Batwing no doubt) taken part in league battles where the only two Mechs left were a Long Range Missile Boat against an up close Brawler. Whether you were either of those Mechs, or one of the dead spectating, it was hugely enjoyable, almost like a game of chess, watching the Brawler manoeuvring to get in close and finish the fight while the Missile Boat tried to stay at range and pound the s*&^ out of the other guy. Ahhh... those were the days. BTW Batwing, BANZAI are all in, registered and raring to go, so if you find yourself looking for a home come release then there's a place at the bar for ya
  5. The ONLY way I will play this game is if SPARTA members get behind it 100% and the Co-op is VERY good. This is NOT a Ghost Recon title, Ubi have killed the GR franchise. You do realise that the DRM includes hardware as well, change major hardware components and it's re buy the game time.

  17. Good man, Brawlers all the way for me. My favourite Mech Configuration: Chassis: Thor Name: Jack of Clubs Game Version: MP2.1a Gametype: Team Battle, MWL Brawler Weapons: 2 CLBX20's, 1 HML, 1 CSTRK6 Speed: 79.02 kph Electronics/Equipment: ECM, Jump Jets, LAMS Description: My favorite all-time Brawler. Makes a wonderful pop-tart hunter on open servers if you go passive, sneak up close, then light the radars up (so your streaks will lock) and dive on them like the wrath of God. The secret to making this one work is knocking big black holes in the bad guys with the 20's, then finishing them off with the HML and streaks.
  18. Merc's for me. Still a long standing member of Banzai Institute For Advanced Armoured Warfare They were the good old day's, MWL matches, NBT matches, an active RPG forum backed up by in game co-op missions written to progress the storyline. The league matches were so well organised with a tonnage allowance given to each team and dependant on your affiliation (Clan or Inner Sphere) you could field as many or few Mechs as you wanted. Half the battle was won in the planning, trying to guess what the other squad would field (Lights, Mediums, Heavies or a mix. Brawlers, Missile Boats, Poptarts). Then you actually dropped on the night and the anticipation of first contact was immense... Did your Battle Commander choose right? And all this being Live Shoutcasted as well. Glossary: Lights - Light weight Mech, Fast, usually a scout but because of the Mechlab you could get some really deadly little brawler configurations. Medium - Medium weight Mech, your all rounder, highly adaptable loadouts and still fairly quick and manoeuvrable. Heavy - Heavy weight Mech, your big hitter, slow, lots of armour, can carry the largest weapons. Brawlers - Any configuration or weight but the loadout is predominantly close quarters for maximum damage. Missile Boat - Like it says on the tin basically, a stand off configuration consisting of predominantly missiles. Poptart - Sniper, usually carrying Long Range Lasers or Gauss Cannons. The name Poptart comes from the strategy of staying behind hills and using the Jump Jets to Pop up, Fire and then land to reload in cover.
  19. Glad you finally found the site, thought I mentioned this months ago. Still, as long as you got your name reserved alls good.
