Steel~Sparta~
Has anyone looked at HDD prices lately? They seem to have spiked!
MH6~SPARTA~
Pretty sure a bunch of HDD manufacturers got flooded and lost all their merchandise over in Asia. Therefore, supply & demand is alive an well. Edit: Looky here - http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/1tb-hard-drive-prices-skyrocket-180-percent-due-to-thailand-floods/
Gunthar~SPARTA~
The majority of the HDD on the market right now are either produced or assembled in Thailand which is currently underwater.

Tell me about it, I need to buy a HDD for the HTPC I'm building. I may end up just using an old HDD I have laying around instead, and just upgrade the storage space with a NAS device in a couple years. I'd buy a NAS now but shit, HDDs are too damn expensive. MH6~SPARTA~
Just so you guys know, Best Buy is still offering some HDDs in-store for relatively cheap. For example, my local BB is selling a 2TB WD Caviar Green for $80, whereas it goes for $229 on Newegg!
Batwing~SPARTA~
I saw a BB offer on their site for 1 TB at about 80 bucks, didn t see the 2 TB at that price... My problem is my G/F doesn t need 1 TB and I do not need it either. I was going to buy a nice 50 bucks HD for her and .. they do not exist anynmore ! I saw an 80GB at 80 bucks ?????!!!!!!!!!!
