I used 3 different programs to read my system settings, it dosnt look right.Im wondering what settings exactly I should set these for....I dotn need over clocking speeds just want it to run the way it was intended to run.Also....the damn ram in the new egg add is 25 dollars cheaper than when I got it 2 weeks ago <_< ......farging bastages. Please look at all 5 of the links , they are all differnet programs that show system settings....Thanks a bunchDirTy

Duno what your wanting to change or fix (We got nfi what you got in the box) .... However 2 points,

The best program to find system info is "Everest Ultimate" by Lavelys

And why are you running a ram divider .... seems pointless as your not OC'd

What specifically are you concerned about?

It looks to me like a stock 2.4Ghz processor (Q6600 maybe??) with a 1066 Mhz FSB and DDR2-800 RAM.

The 3 volt on the RAM reported by nMonitor is WAY high but that s/w isn't much good so I'd check it with something else.....Everest like Mutililater recommended is excellent.

Keep in mind I've got my rig so twisted around it doesn't know which end is up....but post the specifics and someone will help you out I'm sure.

Good luck...

Thanks for the tip....and im not sure what a ram divider is.

Basicly I just want my ram to be set the way its saposse to be, I dont really know a lot about ram and timings....i do to an extent but not enough to make any changes with out advice. They were listed as 4-4-4-15

voltage @ 2.1

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227270

I would like my rig to run at optimal speeds with out running the risk of over doing it.

If its all set proper then Ill leave it be but if the voltage is to high and the speeds can be better then id give it a go.

So it's the RAM timings that have you concerned?

If the BIOS is set to 'auto' for the timings in most cases it will set them looser than you could get by doing it manually.

That may be all that's going on here and no reason for major concern. Once you learn a bit more about your mobo and it's BIOS then you can start working on tightening these timings up.

I'm going thru a bit of PC hell myself right now so sorry for the brief response but from what I can see that appears to be what's happenin'.

Let that system 'burn-in' for a while at stock settings while you cruise the forums and get the feel for what your rig is capable of. Unless you're a seasoned vet at this stuff (I certainly am not) then slow and easy would be my recommendation.

Those timings will make a difference on the benchmarks but as far as real world stuff you'll barely notice any difference so relax and enjoy your new rig. Play some games and have some fun....don't sweat the small stuff....yet :)

BTW nTune is reportedly crap and most OC types uninstall it. That 3v reading on your RAM is a case in point.

Quote of the day: "If it's not broke then stop fixing it" (Advice I should take myself a lot more often)

Peace,

X-Wind

check Assus forums for your mobo (it helped with my P5n) to see if there are any hiccups in manually changing ram timings and voltage. Then change them and like x wind says the voltage should be 2.1v.

Best of luck

sweet ...thanks guys :)

as long as its not set tottaly the wrong way, the high voltage reading is what i was most concerned about...but if its fine the way it is then I will take the addvice and just wait untill i learn more about it. I actually tried to go into my bios but didnt find any memory setting so maybe I was just it the set up part of it. Thanks again all

You might want to take a look at the 'Sensor' page under 'Computer' on Everest just to make sure that RAM voltage isn't as high as nMon says it is.

Should look something like this:

As long as it's below 2.2 or so you should be fine.

Take a quick look to be sure.

Peace
