Some time ago I posted about a very bad experience with Batman AC, ending in an RMA and Refund. Also I stated the game was plagued with several bugs, at least reading several complaints on the official forum. Finally, I had to reinstall my OS for other reasons and I went back to Batman AC to give a second shot. Also for the records a patch had been provided to solve many of the DX 11 issues the game had. I feel I have to be fair with this game and i have at least to report that my new experience with the new patch installed has been flawless. Not 1 bug, glitch, issue of any kind. I also have to say on the other side, the game is truly remarkable. The story has a beautiful plot, there are plenty of side missions to keep you busy during and after the main plot is depleted. Animations are beautiful and actor voices are very nice. New gadgets and a better management system allows to keep better track of your new perks and also to qiickly review keyb combos to refresh your memory on how to use the moltitude of toys and tricks you have. I am very happy now I can play the game in full. For any batman fan this is a game you cannot miss (now is patched). Just a couple of things i do not like: 1 - Joker trophies all over the place in the city. Way too many. Too much arcadish. Really disconnects from an atmosphere nice and dark. All the rest is fine, makes sense.. and then you have these one billion of stupid things almost on any freaking roof and object in the city. Really.. Riddle needs to get a life !! .. lol.. 2 - New DLCs are oriented only to the "Challenge maps" and honestly, being the challenge maps the sort of "multiplayer" any game NEED to have (there is no freaking needs for multiplayer in this game - see stupid multy in Assassin creed -) I really don t give a crap about the challenge fight. i find it boring, repetitive and just a matter of macros.. which on PC do not even work too well - PLATFORM PORT - It would be great if they were delivering DLCs with "Story", missions.. something that makes sense... i thought i had for a sake of faireness post this comment, because the game (when it works) is truly amazing.

I am waiting RMA from WD for my failed drive. It is in transit and should be delivered by 1/11. Then I will install IL2 and i d love to try those missions together How many players on those missions ?

Right.. Thx guys for your moral support Thx Haji.. so far I am good, but for sure i ll knock your door if I need assistance. Actually the final status of things is: 1 - SSD 128GB working great. OS reinstalled and squeeky clean 2 - WD 1TB in RMA procedure. It seems WD is sending me a replacement first AND I will send the sucker back when I get the replacement. The WD RMA procedure was surprisingly simple online and I decided to go with that. However, reason for RMA is also because after reinstalling, nuked the partition on the 1TB, when creating the new Volume and going for Formatting, REFUSE TO FORMAT !! Soooo... not much more to do than an RMA Actually I am re-building my system with very minimal services and games. Not installing anything big till when i ll get the replacement. It is like driving a 6 cylinder using only 2 of them !! But i m glad it seems the RMA will be executed easily. It s just a matter of time now

You know what.. I guess I do agree with you, at least in part. I had smaller HDs in the past, sizes from 160, 250 and 500GB. I also installed several HDs on PC i sold and those were as well , medium sizes (250 - 500). I never had a call back in years from a customer complaining for an HD failure. I had 2 HD failure myself before this incident; I had 160GB failing after 7 years of honored service and a 250GB failing after 6 years of honored service. Honestly I can t complain. Now this motherfucker just 3 months old is failing... 1TB, 7200 rpm 64mb cache. It should be a very good machine but... it fails. Either I have been very lucky (and my customers with me) so far or is true that the latest tech on HDs to make em bigger and faster is probably giving away stability. Also true shit simply happens, so maybe a nice format this drive will be steady as a rock.. who knows, time will tell. The only safe PC is a backed up PC, that is for sure I better start to get used to weekly backups ;)

Yeah, well i guess it was mostly bad luck. This is ghe system i rebuilt 10 days ago with the new SSD os and a 3 months old 1TB wd drive. The wd drive failed while i was downloading IL 2. In the middle of downloading i was just surfing around and system froze I had to execute an hard reboot and considering the hd handlers were still open, most probably that was the coupe of grace. After that started a nightmare of chkdsk recovery and orphaned files and the a boot sector failure. Although i recovered the BS system is highly unstable and i think my final solution is: 1 due to no phisical errors i will nuke the drive, full format and redo the system and then test for a while being sure to backup weekly 2 if i see any sign of instability i will try a warranty action but i bought it a compusa store nd cant find receipt, but i used my card so i would be able to retrieve the transaction. It s a bit of pain but now i know how i ll spend my Saturday:)

Yeah.... How much do I love this??? My freaking 1TB decided to go ballistic... Lost boot sector and screwd a few files resulting in total erratic system. So now rebuilding everything again, although it will take a while because now i gotta get my backup from the network drive. Man this stuff sucks...

Bah.. I LOVE AC series but i truly think the Multi was just a poor marketing excuse. I don t like DeathMatch in any game, so my comment is possibly a very personal standpoint. However AC deathmatch seems to be extremely repetitive and boring. Further more maps are quite small. Basically is roaming around, stab someone, roaming around, get stabbed .. respawn.. same little map. There no motivation and I do believe after 10 minutes of initial excitement for a sort of new taste of DM, it is just crap. I have the game, i love the story as usual and I love the single. Multi... not for me..

After 3 hours of troubleshooting last nite i got it straight.. sorta... I had to rebuild the Boot Sector and fortunately that helped a bit. I am still running dignostics to see if there are major corruptions, I lost a few files. Can t say what will work and what not till when I get to try somethng and will crash because some majore file is corrupted. It sucks when shit like this happens.. Fortunately all of major data are backed up, but also the "not major" stuff are somewhat important and losing them is just annoying, especially when I just rebuilt this system with new full install just few days ago.. Diagnostic says disk is "fine", meaning that most probably whatever I write from now on is safe, probably 90% of previous data are safe as well, but i should simply reinstall everything to be sure. I already can see myself, playing Assassin creed and crashing because some hidden file is corrupted, one day... lol.. and you will hear my Owling in the Night !! hehehe Shit happens, not much i can do about it

Great... So while downloading this game I had a massive crash on my Terabyte storage and now is not even starting anymore.... I am pissed like a drunk monkey! Lol Run chkdsk for the 4th time and continue finding "inconsistencies"... Actuslly while typing on my phone is about 5 minutes chkdsk is rolling a neverending list of Unreadable files. This is really not promising.

Got it and I m downloading while typing. Very willing to give it a shot and fly with u guys !

This can be tempting if you guys decide to stick with the game for a bit. Last time i saw it on Steam was 10 bucks, which is a great price for the full pack, just you know.. it would suck if in the next few days I ll buy it and your "passion" expires right away Although i ve been flying pretty well on other Mil Sims (LockOn mostly and some F4 in the past) when I tried IL2 long time ago I sucked .. lol.. so I am glad to join a possibl Noob flight, to learn better how to keep those bricks flying Catch you soon

Durka was interested in this and i thought it could be interesting for others as well. If you are using an SSD you may consider to move your Temp Folders to the Storage drive to avoid wasting room on your small SSD. Actually there are 3 forms of Temps you wanna move: 2 for Windows and 1 for Internet Explorer. If you use a different browser then you will have Temp or Cache folders for that one too. Refer to the Browser documentation to figure out how to move it. TO MOVE WIN 7 TEMP FOLDERS: - Create a folder on D: (or whatever other drive) and call it Temp - From Start Orb, right click Computer and get Properties - Left end side, click on Advanced System Settings - Click botton Environment Variables - Upper box you see 2 Temp variables (Temp and Tmp), select one and click Edit - On Value put the path to the new Temp folder you created (as D:\temp) and lick OK - Do it again for the other temp value, moving to the same Temp folder - Click OK to confirm everything, OK till closing all windows and then REBOOT TO MOVE TEMP INTERNET FOLDER: - Click on Options and choose Internet Option - on Browsing History click on Settings - Click on Move Folder and choose the Temp folder you already created earlier and you used for the other temps - Click OK as many times you need to close all windos - RESTART IE OTHER OPTIONAL SETTINGS: You may consider to check your Allocated space on C for System Restore. By default it uses a awful amount of space, I would suggest to reduce it at 1 or 2%. - From Start Orb, right click Computer and get Properties - Left end side, click on System protection - Click on Configure and adjust value - Clik OK as needed to close all windows - REBOOT

Hey Durka, I think you first need to have the "theory" clear and then you move to "action". OBJECTIVES: 1 - having OS on C ( SSD) 2 - having Hi-Performance programs / games on C 3 - having all of the rest on Storage D In order to do that every time you install something you have to use "custom" options or at least be sure you are choosing to install on D If you fail that you are failing the main porpoise for your SSD, and of course your small SSD would be full in 10 minutes. Also you should be sure to "move" all of the file folders - docs, pics, movies etc - permanently on D. You may also consider to modify the Temp variables in Win to point to a temp folder on D. This way your setting should be close to optimal

I had a quick run testing ACE 13. I played Falluja, being long time I didn t touch that map. Something very nice: I was able to sneak till the Radio Tower without triggering any enemy. In the past it seemed doesnnt matter what you do, when you get close "the enemy spotted you" with their Magic balls. Actually that didn t happen. Unfortunately i didn t equip a silenced weapon, so I killed the guy guarding the radio tower and then the trigger "enemy spotted you" was up. Satchels: A new trick. It seems is Timer only and after setting timer you have to ARM the thing. So my first Satchel failed, because i didn t armed it. Then i went back, I armed it but i was unsure what timer setting I set, so I disarmed it and after that it was useless, no way to arm again, so DO not Disarm it, you will not be able to use it again. Finally I used my second satchel and set 2 min timer and armed. Then i discovered 1 Satchel is not enough to put the tower down in Falluja After that i aborted, but at least it works EDIT It seems like I am no more on Flying list on ACE server. I reinstalled Arma 2 couple of days ago, is it possible my ID changed ? Let me know what do you need. Thx

I like playing Coops. When an appointment is set, I will see if I can make it. My usual availability is after 7 pm EST weekdays and quite open on Saturdays, no Sunday (or seldom).
