  1. How'd I do? I was surprised how well the healing brush tool worked for this echogram where used. Warning:large file
  2. Risking part of the d/l at work-dreamy 500kb/sec!
  3. Yeah, OK, a few screenies whet my appetite to d/l when I get home. It'll be a couple hours' still, but I'll give it a shot.
  4. That was something I uninstalled while working on the problems, but if it's MSI afterburner alone-then perhaps I'll reinstall.
  5. Installed the new PSU a week ago, but still a few crashes since then. Still related to video drivers-but MSI Afterburner, now uninstalled, may be the culprit. However, w/o that program my GPU fans don't kick in at increasing temps. Any alternative GPU monitoring programs for temp/fan control?
  6. Chains on a car? A set of studded winter tires (ALL of them) should suit you fine, it's what everyone uses in Newfoundland amid the ice and fish scales, b'y.
  7. It's recent history the Nvidia 9800 series, which differed from the 8800 series how?? No idea on sales for the 9800s, but if that 'tactic' did well, then perhaps the 6800 is a repeat technique. More reviews Tomshardware Anandtech Anandtech
  8. I still haven't played any of these since the original couple! :poster_oops: . Flee-get your arse on Sparta TS and we'll sort it out then.
  9. Cut-and-paste from the previous Blizzard forum topic. Too bad the program can't hold more than 2 actors.
  10. Far superior to my faulty creation. http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7186593/
  11. Saw a clip of this earlier today-wanted to try one myself. This took all of 2 minutes to make!
  12. Greetin'z and see you in the ironsights.
  13. This was so tempting I actually bought it. Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply- The item status changed earlier today on newegg.ca. No change at the US site, but shipping there is still only $2. Actually-that about makes the discounts equal. Previously the canadian site only offered $20 off compared to the US $30 (and $2 shipping). Now the numbers are a little closer, despite parity and the friggin' overcharge in Canada for every consumer product...
  14. Well damn-they have it up for free shipping today. Guess I can't hold out for a better deal. Whatsit- $20 off $10 from manuf on card Add'l$12(approx) off in shipping. That's good enough for another post... Done. Should be here in a week or so.
  15. Well, yes, there is a 10 rebate-if I buy before the end of the month (not likely)
  16. I did the same for a now-expired Canadian offer of W7x64. Got it for $50CAN (25brit?)
  17. That's the same PSU dummy. I'm in Canada, my link was for newegg.ca. The US website doesn't offer int'l shipping anymore, but even when they did I would still lose on shipping costs.
  18. When I can afford it, I've settled on this one-best mix given reviews at HW secrets and TSF.
  19. I won't be venturing toward anything more elaborate than my C2D anytime soon-$ better spent elsewhere. I'm still sold thus far on the NZXT550w,80plusGold. In the meantime, don't mind it if i disappear off TS for a few minutes every so often. It's just another BSOD.
  20. Correction-I have the 5770, pardon the typo. PSU calc's fine via extremepsucalc, and I recall the rails being adequate at the time. Presently considering the NZXT-550w. It'll run me $130 delivered, but that'll have to wait a month.
  21. I'm considering the same. It's the only sub-par equipment in the entire system. Something from the hardwaresecrets list.
  22. I didn't look this AM, but I think I still have my 9800GT. I plan to put that in and see how she runs. I'm a little suspicious of the RMA anyway-I opted for an ultra-high end model of the 5700 (oxymoron?) via a more expensive MSI mil-spec this&that-heatpipe-everything. There appears to be no concern about software/OS issues, the crashes noted are on TS, system, BC2, arma, MSI, so going ahead with a HD-wipe&reinstall seems like needless tedium. If it is a config problem, I'd like to figure it out before just clearing the palette to start problems again. As for the RAM-I bought it almost one year ago (Oct 16, exactly). It's passed all memtest runs thus far, but once I stopped overclocking I haven't run memtest past a couple full test cycles. @bowtime- she dumps about 1/2 the time at startup, when she's finishing loading support programs once the desktop is visible and interactive, perhaps 5-10 seconds once desktop is up. Other times are intermittent with gameplay or other program usage. Note that the most recent three crashes (other than another one late yesterday, not in the bug list in the original post), all occurred within 1 minute of startup!
