  1. Well done to you both. Even a year seems to be an achievement nowadays. Do another 24 and you've caught us up.
  2. What... you think I'd let you all bleed out? Count me in.
  3. They are all available on the Ace Tac Server mate so that just needs starting up when required so it doesn't impact Domination etc
  4. Just throwing this out there nice and early. Now obviously due to time differences etc I can only really suggest things for the Euro time zone but I was thinking of things we could do to celebrate. Large scale games like ArmA take a lot of organising (though I'm more than willing to help get everyone squared away with MOD's etc) but I was thinking of something more along the lines of: Left For Dead 2 in versus mode. Huge amounts of fun, most people have a copy already and no server required. We could even knock up a quick league for the night for a laugh. Random team selection in the first round then stick with that team from then on. Just some thoughts anyway.
  5. We're always around bud so just jump on when ya can, no pressure from our end

No mate, he said he didn't have the option (even though he had a radio) to add JIP's, there were none on the map at that time.

Server was restarted apparently which would explain that mate.

The JIP Markers are the same as normal markers but are saved on the server. The reason for them is as you know, if you use a normal marker in ArmA anyone that joins after you have placed them cannot see them. Hence the Join In Progress Markers that are always shown until deleted. Same with the AAR's, they are saved as Notes that are viewable from the Map screen.
  10. Don't feel obligated mate, less work for me if you don't want a slot so let me know if your sure. I'll try and give you an idea of what this is about (although looking through the user guide gives you a fair idea). If you like being a one man killing spree with access to every item and unlimited resources then tbh, the Domination server is more suitable. This is definitely squad based, it is an ongoing occupation with random enemy and convoys. The only server generated Tasks are convoy destruction ANY other tasks can be assigned by Team Leaders and the whole gametype relies on ALL players leaving accurate JIP Markers and After Action Reports. It is a persistent mission meaning when you leave the server is saves you location and your kit and ammo. It does not (as we are finding out) save a vehicle you may have or backpacks (I am looking into this). When you rejoin the server you will spawn back where you were when you left. Assets are precious and as true to life as possible, if you take a Humvee out on patrol you better take some fuel cans and Tyres with you as the can (and will) get damaged. Personally I see the server working best like this (others will probably disagree). Normally you will join and you maybe alone or with only one or two others. If this is the case then attacking or ambushing anything substantial is probably a fruitless task. So what do you do? RECON! Kit yourself out, load some spares in a vehicle and go and find stuff, search for enemy forces, look for good ambush points etc and MARK THEM ON THE MAP using JIP Markers, then leave an AAR with details of what you saw and what happened. If one of you is a Team Leader he can then create a TASK. If this is done then a group can then organise a time when a more substantial force can be gathered and we can then go complete the Task. If this doesn't suit you then maybe you would enjoy taking Assets and building an ambush point or a FOB somewhere which can be used as a staging post. If your still bored then tbh you need to find another gametype as this certainly won't suit everyone. There are many bugs and issues we are coming across that I am trying to sort but if enough interest is there then I don't mind putting the effort in (gives Zeno a rest at least). Thats about all I can face typing on an iPhone atm so hope this helps a little.

    MSO Bug Reports

    Oh surely it can sir.
  12. One quick thing about slot requests, I have no problem making people Team Leaders but this slot comes with responibilites. I expect ALL Team Leaders to be leaving JIP Markers and After Action Reports. I cannot stress how important these are to the core gameplay of MSO. If I notice that any Team Leaders are playing often but not leaving information then I will re classify them to Rifleman. This may seem harsh but if you want the kudos then you gotta work for it.
  13. I thought you already had a slot Yoshi but I will check when I get home from work.

No mate, Single player is the only gametype that can be saved in it's entirety. There is just too much data for any way of saving Multiplayer games.
  15. Please post below if you would like a slot added to the server for your use stating which squad you would like to join. The choices are: 1: BAF 2: US Army 3: US Marine Corp Please at least give the MSO a try as a guest before requesting a slot as it means a mission edit and a server restart to upload the new file.

Entire 'Guest' squad added. Batwing, what position would you like, BAF? US Army? USMC?

    MSO Bug Reports

Hmmmm, joined the server myself (18:45) and was able to walk straight up to the HQ (at the FOB) and recruit as many as I wanted. I will look into this.

Please leave any Feedback/Suggestions here but remember, I didn't write this mission so all I can do is try to implement changes or ask the developers.
  20. No one is being kept out in any way, shape or form. Basically this is a test server and because we found the problem with people joining in any open slot, thus stopping someone else rejoining the server if their previous slot was occupied, I made the decision that the only way of avoiding this was to 'Name' each slot and hope people acted sensibly and only joined their own slot. Now, the only info I had to go on at the time was the Domination Driving/Flying list which has about 180 entries in. Forgive me if you think I'm lazy but there was no way I was editing the mission to have 180 slots so I just added a selection of names that I knew played and who I had seen already on the server. If you want to start a request list for inclusion into the list I will happily add these as an ongoing task but please don't think anyone would be excluded as you should know by now that thats not the way we do things around here
  21. Your already in as a BAF Team Leader mate
  22. Hi guy's, I'm glad people seem to be enjoying MSO and I'm happy to edit the original mission to a certain degree, but I feel I must clarify things a bit. This is not domination. Or Insurgency. Almost everything is random. And I want to leave a lot of things as they are. You may well join on a particular evening and NOT have hundreds of enemies to shoot, or large engagements of vehicles. This does not mean it needs tweaking to make it harder because at any time it could spawn a larger force, or decide to attack a FOB or an area you have already secured. Also, I am not going to keep adding hundreds of this, or loads of that when it comes to weapons or equipment. The idea is that TEAMWORK will prevail. You are not Arnie or Rambo, if you join the server and there are only a few people around, or you are alone, do some Recon, or some building. If kit is not readily available then someone else has used it. It WILL respawn, but the default time is about 4 hours. As to character selection, there are 3 choices. 1: BAF. 2: US Army. 3: US Marine Corp. And there are 3 roles. 1: Team Leader. 2: Soldier. 3: Pilot. The choice of kit is yours, I have included Goggles, Earplugs and GPS as standard when you spawn. Unfortunately it is a restriction in the way ArmA works that the only way to keep the Server/Mission Persistent is for you to select, then KEEP the same slot. There is no way (that I know of) of reserving slots so when you leave someone could always join in your slot and this would cause you to not be able to join again until that slot was free. To counteract this I have named each slot as a person who wants to play. Again, this will NOT stop (as an example) Me jumping in Zeno's slot and then Zeno not being able to play while I occupy it, but we're all adults and I'm hoping people act sensibly. On this note I also want to touch on a few things. This MSO server will only be worth using if people do the following. Leave After Action Reports when ANYTHING of significance happens. There are full instructions on how to do this in the User Manual. Leave JIP Markers. Again, how will people who join when you have left know what you have seen, killed, built etc. Also, equipment. I have manually reduced the time it takes for weapon crates at spawn to reappear when loaded into a vehicle. By default it was 4 hours. I have left everything else as standard and don't want to change them. People need to realise that in this gametype you need to think of resources and consequences. It IS possible to load the medical facility into a vehicle and take it with you, same goes for almost anything (weapon crates, supplies etc). But should you? If you load the Medical Facility into a chopper, and the Ruck crate, and the Medical Crate, and the Launcher Crate for instance. Then fly off to a Recon point you have established... Great, you are well kitted out for whatever may happen. 45mins later you have to go out and walk the dog... Great, you are going to respawn exactly where you were when you left with all your lovely stuff around you. BUT... 10mins after you have left, someone else joins, and they cant get any Medical supplies, or Rucks, or Launchers etc because some thoughtless bugger has flown them half way across the map. There are empty crates supplied at spawn, fill em up with what you think you might need and take that instead, or manually place individual items in the chopper/vehicle but PLEASE don't take the whole crate, you are just being selfish and spoiling someone else's enjoyment. Now, I realise that this isn't MY server, and I AM NOT the MSO police. As SPARTANS we can play how we want on the servers (within reason). But this also applies to ME and whether I keep on adjusting the default MSO mission for the Server or not. So far everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and willing to learn how the gametype works (me included). TBH I have spent more time modding the thing than playing it so you guy's probably know how it actually plays better than I do. But if we, as a community decide it's worth developing, then great. If not then I can stop editing and get on with playing
