I went online to seek an upgrade for my ASUS G53 cpu, which is a i7-2630qm. I googled and got a few results, beeing engineering samples and qualification samples for sale. Does anyone know if those are reliable? I really don't know anything about this. they had a good price tho. Can anyone shed some light?

ES cpus are usually the cream of the crop and usually cracking overclockers, this is not really applicable so much for a laptop thouhgh. you wont get a warantee, but they are usually bought by enthusiasts who do their best to kill em anyway :beatdeadhorse: . just make sure the seller guarantees it works!

what chip are you looking to upgrade to? can't really see it being a whole lot better, that's a pretty smart chip you have already :D ES cpu would be good if you know about its history and the price is right.
