Lightspeed~SPARTA~ Posted April 30, 2011 Share Posted April 30, 2011 I grew listening to and loving rock in the 80's when guitar solos were king. One of my highlights was watching Slash playing for the Gunners on the Use Your Illusion Tour back in the early 90's. I was lucky enough to get in the VIP section and watch Axl singing and Slash going ballistic for about 3 hours. Guitars don't dominate as much in mainstream music anymore but I still like to browse youtube every now and then to see whats going on. I think it's time to start a Guitar Solo thread - and to kick it off, I know I should go with one of the legends of Guitar like Slash or Jimmy Page but I watched this vid and thought this man has certainly mastered his craft. EL_n00biachi Posted April 30, 2011 Share Posted April 30, 2011 Cant miss Marillion's Steve Rothery in this thread can ya... just an example of his stuff...take the time to listen to the end...its only 10minutes....obviously the solo's in the songs are alot longer and can take up to 2 minutes.
