BSSBlade
Bought a Laptop for son for xmas. the one i bought was http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...text%3EACER.htm But the one that was sent is Aspire 6935G-644G32Bn http://www.acer.co.uk/acer/productv.do?Lan...wrAjaxHistory=0 The problem is not sure if it is a better or worse replacement as the 1gig of ddr2 dedicated geforce 9600GT is replaced with a geforce 9600GS 512mb DDR3. Also the replacement doesnt have the blue-ray as per specs of replacement. Any help would be much appreciated as laptop is gonna be his gaming machine aswell as surfing net. aero
That's actually a really nice computer. Acer products are really good quality in my view.
MedicSN6
The problem is that you have not gotten the equal of what you paid for. Especially the BluRay drive. I'd pitch a fit.
Watchman~SPARTA~
Doesn't help but you are now the third person I know that ordered an Acer laptop, supposidly spec'd with a Blueray drive only for it to turn up without / not be available. In both previous instances it proved impossible for them to get a replacement laptop, with Blueray for anywhere close to the original price. Acer had an industry rep not too long back of having the cheapest Bluray lappies on the market, hence my two friends going for them: Neither got them without shelling out close to £150 more than the original price quoted. BSSBlade
After a couple of phone calls to ARGOS they agreed too replace £450 laptop with a £650 laptop with better specs http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...xt%3ELAPTOP.htm. Blu-Ray was never an issue as model i`d bought didnt have one but coudnt find laptop on web too show closesed was what i posted minus blu-ray. Funny thing is graphics was the issue now the ACER Aspire 6935 has a better graphic raiting in vista with only 512mg card than the Toshiba Satelite with a 1350meg card so gonna do a bench mark too see which is better when son is not around. rtr~SPARTA~
Hi All, Before settling on my current setup I looked into the acer high end laptops. You will find a really useful set of various specs and configurations on their website and there is also a downloadable pdf of their current prices. you really need to pay attention to those ID numbers I eventually decide to go with a dedicated gaming desktop and a Revo 3610 w/4gb RAM and a 500 GB as a media centre/ general browsing PC. hesinna09
Peronsally I will hopefully be getting the G51j. But generally, any desktop replacement is a bit beefy and going to be generated a lot of heat when gaming. I was thinking of the "Cooler Master Notepal Infite" Not sure if Im allowed to post the link which has really good reviews on play. Does anyone have a laptop cooler they recommend? Thanks
