Xross
Dslyecxi is involved with ArmA II beta testing (also an A.C.E. tester) and managed to capture some footage while talking up (and demonstrating) the benefit of using a TrackIR in ArmA. Teaser Demo The ability to look in a direction you are not facing can not be overstated.
Zebb
TrackIR was one of those toys I considered getting in my flight sim days but once I started to play more FPS and less flying it became less important, when I am in Arma I must spend as much time in my "Freelook" as I do looking ahead, any time I am crossing an open area I am sweeping left and right for targets, and even with my weapon up I will still check my left and right flanks with the "Freelook" in case I am getting flanked, I even have a hot key on my mouse just for that reason. Maybe it's time I looked at getting a TrackIR again, after all I still love my flight sims as well..
custard~SPARTA~
Very slick, being able to look quickly while prone left n right. I don't use free look, it will be programmed on my thumb joystick tonight lol.

Xross
Zebb's right about 'freelook'. I just posted the TIR stuff because it was attached to recent ArmA II footage..
