MUTILATER
I did manual Microshaft updates earlier .... there was an updated driver for my on board gigabit Lan port (In hardware optional section) ... so I installed it ... Fucking bad idea !! i noticed instant instability as soon as i rebooted then a few hours later I had a dead port, not sure if it's the drivers fault or simple coincidence, however the Lan port disappeared from device manager and also from the bios, I kid you not the option to enable/disable just vanished. Now this may very well be just a simple port died at same time situation but I'm not sure. Anyway had a spare D-Link pci one in the drawer so all good as gold regardless. Just thought i would give you a heads up if you encounter the same issue after a driver update. My Realtek Lan was a model 8111B and the driver it wished to install was called "Realtek GbE & FE Ethernet PCI-E Nic driver". Hope anyone else has better luck if you have this model. Athlon64~SPARTA~
OUCH!!! Did you do A restore to a earler date to bring back the old driver? Or you might hound around and find your old driver disk for the mo-bo and reinstall it? Or go the the web sight of the MO-BO you have and down load it from there?
