I remember feeling pretty scared, just not knowing what laid ahead. Although I never really got excited, some people could tell when I was nervous. My Plt SGT, SFC Ramirez (code name "Beaner"), sat down next to me on the c130 and said "What the fu** is your problem, Doc?" To make a long and boring story short, I was focusing too much on what might happen instead of what was happening. As a soldier, you know very well, doing this can get you or someone else killed in a hot minute. Stay focused and let our prayers protect you. Peace bro.
