British humour on TV

I haven't lived in Britain for a long time, so I dont know if humour on British TV has changed much, I imagine it has.

Obviously I am from the era of Monty Python, which was outlandish humour in its time. We also had the Two Ronnies, Morecombe and Wise which were also excellent. One of my favourites from that era was "Not the Nine O'clock News".

Here, for your delectation, is Gerald the talking Gorilla, enjoy.

Both great shows, not been watching much in the way of British made TV humour mostly watching a few series on Amazon stuff like Black Sails.

There is one show that is hilarious 'Benidorm' not sure it's your cup of tea.

Ha good stuff. I don't watch British television much but I do catch the odd episode of QI, Would I Lie to You, or The Big Fat Quiz of the Year on YouTube. They are usually pretty entertaining (for panel shows), though it depends on who they have on the show.

Generally, if David Mitchell is on the show I know it'll probably be good.

Best (somewhat) modern British TV show I can think of though is The IT Crowd. Which is conveniently all on Netflix.

No one comes close to Monty Python though.

Black Sails is a great show. The finale was fantastic. If you aren't past season 1 yet, just wait.

I watched all of Black Sails, agreed I thoroughly enjoyed the finale.

IT Crowd = soo very funny soz I had forgotten IT (lol)

The British TV panel shows are very funny I have seen Jimmy Carr, the host of big fat quiz twice, live he is both disturbingly offensive and extremely intelligent he is the best comic I have ever seen just behind Billy Connolly who is the funniest man ever born bar none.

Connolly appeared on the chat show Parkinson many times this is a clip of the funniest thing I have seen on a chat show a British comic (Freddie Starr) and Mohamed Ali.
