Nice move there. You didn't try to get him to surrender? When I sneak up on someone like that I just yell out surrender with my marker on them. If you get the voice right you can really scare the crap out of someone. I actually had one instance when I snuck up on a guy in a house and peeked in through the window. I yelled surrender! as loud as I could and the guy dropped his marker. Then, his buddy, who I didn't even know about, also dropped him marker. Had I just shot the guy I might have been lit up by the second guy. (I play with a stock-class Phantom about half the time.)

I'm with Custard on this one. The new AI just means we can't be one-man killing machines. Don't get me wrong, I like being able to play as a Medic with a DMR and SMAW with 6 inst-tank killer missles, but it doesn't engender the kind of teamwork that ACE does.

Sucks, doesn't it. The fact that the guys has multiple hits on him implies that it didn't hurt enough to make him give up, at least the first 10 didn't. Relying on pain to stop an attack is always a bad idea, you never know if they guy's hopped up on PCP or good old fashion adrenalin. That's why when cops use less-lethal rounds they have a partner with the real stuff backing them up in case the rubber doesn't work. I cringe everytime I hear a civilian saying they want to use rubber bullets in a home-defense scenario for whatever reason. But now I'm rambling.

Awesome? Hell yes. But yeah, there's a reason rubber bullets are classified as less-lethal munitions and not non-lethal. Looks kinda-like that guy was hit with 12 gauge rubber slugs. I don't even want to think about how much that must have hurt.

Around here most of them don't keep anything under the counter, they keep them on their hips.

Everytime I see something like this I think we're getting one step closer to the fat people in Wall-E. They need to stop marketing this to the general public. Medical purposes only. And being too fat to walk is not a medical need for one of these.

Are you shooting rifles, pistols, shotguns or all three? Bring some targets you can't usually shoot at the ranges; watermelons, water jugs, oranges, etc. Alternatively, bring some paper targets and find something to use as a stand and try some 3-gun style stuff (shooting on the move and from behind cover). That's what we do when I vist my friend's ranch down SLO. Here's how we set it up: We had 4 silhouettes set up about 20 feet apart, two of which were partially behind trees. You'd start behind another tree 100 yards away with my buddy's AR in your hands, my 870 slung and my 1911 in a holster. The other person would yell 'GO!' and you'd have to hit one of the obscured targets twice, then drop the rifle, and move to a wood pile ~40 yards away. While moving you unslung the 870 and hit a second target with 3 slugs. Then you dropped the 870 and moved to a barricade we made out of an old palette. On the way you drew the 1911 and put 5 rounds in the remaining clear target. Once you reached the barricade, you reloaded and put your remaining rounds into the last target (the one partially behind the tree). Best time without tossing any shots wins a 6-pack from the other guy (to be consumed only after the guns were cased up). It was quite possibly the most fun I've ever had shooting, and I shoot at least once a week. Think about all the stuff you'd like to try that isn't allowed at the local ranges (shooting on the move, drawing from a holster, 2-gun transitions, etc.) and, as long as you can do it safely, have at it. (PS. Range shooting is still a ton of fun. I see you're in San Jose. Come out to the Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club some time, if you haven't already. I'm there every Tuesday after wook and about every other Saturday. I'm the guy wearing a ridiculous looking long coat out on the trap range.)

Considering how many times me, bigworm and vapor got annihilated, I'd say no, it wasn't too easy for us on the ground. Not try to say the annihilation was your fault, the new AI is a tricky som'bitch.

Someone, Sphinx I think, suggested I post this in case other people are running into the same problem. Occasionally on the ACE server, I will suddenly become unable to interact with anything except the basic menu commands; gear, show status, etc. I can't access the MHQ menu, ammo boxes, MASH's, etc. I found that the work around was to go to 'Show Status', and switch squads. As soon as I did this everything was normal again. Sphinx ran into the same problem on Sat night and the fix worked for him too.
