Hi Medic, thank you for your suggestions. I posted on the official BI forum at this address http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?...366#post1496366 and i would like you take a look to let me know what do you think about it. This is gonna be a very uncomfy situation, because Gogamer did not even replied to my complain and BI is trying to wash their hands of this problem. I am very disappointed, is the first time something like this is happening to me and i already feel the solution like buying another copy and forget about my first 45 bucks.... However if BI denied their support to me, I would invite the community to "learn" at least from someone else bad experience, how they freely screwd us. Let s see what happens...

@ medic: I bought a RETAIL Box !! tthis is what really piss me off !! I got the box mailed and it toook a few days. I have all my stuff, it came NICE AND SEALED, I have thhe manuale and at the back of the manual thhe frikking code!!! This is just a fraud from the selller, because they never advertised this "could" be a returned game. They sell it for new and it get delivered as new, but obviously has been, uused, activated and returned and re-sold. If i was in Italy, Ii come from a lawyer family and I would know how to intimidate these assholes to get my money back right away. Here unfortunately, I have to hope they will answer my mail first of all. Guys, any legal suggestion is very welcome. Thank you.

I am using Win 7 Ultimate 64 and i just installed Arma2. everything went nice and smooth. I have a problem with the CD key, bought an hacked game (unbelievable), anyway single player is working perfect. never crashed. I am running on an i7 920 @ 3.5 ghz, 2 hd 4850 crossfire and 6 GB ram ddr3. I had a graphic issue when installed, blocky artifact and bad graphic in game, but that has been solved setting "video memory" on very high on the Video setting - Advanced. Now is running perfect on qualityy at max level and 1920*1080. Durka, if you wanna give me more info about what config you have and what video card u use I may help. As you can see I am using ATI, so if you are on Nvidia, maybe i cannot help too much but as a basic suggestion, i can tell you Win 7 is quite picky with video drivers. Actually ATI drivers are out wiith vers. 9.10 or 11, but i have to stay on 9.8 for some reason. Any other most recent driver gives me very bad issues, while the 9.8 just work perfect. I don t know too much about Nvidia, but do not assuume that the most recent driver necessarely is the perfect one. Your problem really sounds like video driver one. It could be temperature issue too on the GPU, but i assume u checked ure temps.

alright, so I am totally new to this game and I do not know how to add features and adds-on. I was reading the other post indicating what MODs you use: ------ "Main Domination Server Vopsound 2.1 Download Here AT.gui Download Here Digital Compass Download Here Proper view distance mod Download Here Sahrani Domination Server CAA1 Mod Download Here Tactical Domination Server Little Bird Mod Download Here" -------- So, I took a quick glance to those packages, there are some "read-me" but only some. So QUESTION (for the rookie level): - WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO INSTALL ADD-ONS? - Are these Add-ons "required" or "optional" to play on your servers? - Is my understanding everytime you want to use an add-on, you have to modify the shortcut to load the correct add-on, but I do believe you can run more than one "mod" at the same time, so what is the syntax for the new shortcut to use more MODs in once? - Do I have to make a single shortcut to launch Arma2 valid for all of your servers, with all the MODs applied, ordi I have to make a separate shortcut depending on the server I want to join ? Last question, not really related to Add-ons: - I would like to try to Master the chopper piloting (interesting challenge), is it possible use a joystick to fly the chopper and bind throttle keys to the throttle axis on the Joy, as well for commands like "auto-hover" to be bind on a joy botton? ( I just have to dig on the config a lil more, but if you can just let me know I can do it, that would be appreciated). Hi, Unfortunately I use ATI, not Nvidia, so I am not really familiar with the programs you are talking about, but my suggestion in general, and this is not only valid for Win 7 but for any OS in general, try to not install too many programs handling graphic or performances in background, although really necessary, because most of the time they can interfere or overlap with other functions, creating preformance degrade, instead to help. Win 7 is a very streamlined OS and is usually able to optimize your machine by itself, without too many extra needs. In order to have the best graphic performance I would just suggest you to be sure to have the most recent drivers for your card (I do believe you could keep the Physix on..) and if needed tweak your card using your videocard software control. I cannot yet help too much about Arma 2 configs in win 7 because i got the game yesterday and didn t istall it yet (I m not home). Maybe I'll have to ask to more experienced players on Arma2 if I run in any problem However, try to keep your System as much as clean of craplets and install tweaker only if really needed.

On Win 7 I used free AVG, free Avira and now I have MS security essential and is working very well

I have FC 1.12 installed and working at the moment. Probably I'll get this new update. If someone wants to fly sometimes let me know. It is important to install Hyperlobby to find servers online to fly with other ppl. I have it perfectly working on Win 7, but at the beginning theere were issues due to the Starforce protection and wrong drivers under Win 7, so if u have any issue, let me know and I 'll tell you how to fix it Bat

I've been usingWin 7 since about 10 months now. I was on the MS beta testing. I ve to say I never had an issue with it. Had a BSOD once, but was not an OS issue, but wrong ATI drivers. Performances with all the game I tested so far are better than XP (I do not even compare to Vista). If you have a specific problem, ask me and I will see if I can help, however most of the time is a matter of most recent drivers for your devices. This is not even always true, because the most recent ATI drivers mess up my graphic big time, so it s just a matter to experiment a little bit, but 99% everything works and if it doesnt, right click the application and use Troubleshooting, it really works most of the time.

To Halli, your connection on Speedtest is good. Your result is on the high end side for a connection in general close to 7 Mb. Your upload of about 430 Kb is very good, considering that probably as a peak or "sold" rate shoudl be 512. you are very close. To Cylawyer, yes, a wireless connection can compromise your performance on Internet, especially playing a game. To play at the best performance is always adviced to be connected "phisically" to your router. Of course, if you can't.. just bite the bullet and enjoy what you have. On general lines the wireless can be degraded by several reasons, as distance from the router, interferences, other access points close to yours (part of interference issues) and a few others. If you are just curious to see what's the comparison, try, if possible, a wired test and then a wireless test and you'll see. I am a bit skeptic about this test anyway, because being called "pingtest" is rating B a ping of 34... This means probably is testing some other value, but is not clear or displayed. I have another speedtest you may want to try, a bit more professional as response but I don t have the link here. I 'll let you know Sunday when I go home.

Last night I came on the TS and ii saw many of you in the ArmA 2 channel but I preferred to not disturb, not knowiing exactly about your channel policiies. For sure i will join again, listening at the channel at the beginning. I will decide in these few days what to do, either getting the gmae or not. Zeno, i do appreciate 2 points you talked about. First "playing slow" is a style i do like. I ve never been into quick shooters (Quake and siblings) and i would like CoD MW2 was a bit more realistic to enjoy the beautiful graphic they came out wiith, but unfortunately that game is no more than an arcade. Second, playing with a good group of friends. This is important and i do really care about it. TThiis is proobably the only reason why I am still in TAW, playing GRAW 2. I am boored to death playing GRAW 2 now. Although many "mappers" created pretty good new coop maps, it is an old game. No dynamic, dumm AI, predictable enviironment, just to say some. BUT I play with great guys, they are nice and they make enjoyable the time we spend together, supporting your point that playing with the right ppl sometimes iis way more important than playing the game itself. Hello, Batwing here. I found about your group online and I've been very interested. first of all the choice of name.. Spartans.. an Elite of warriors breed to the art of War. That is quite an important name to be proud of. So, here I am. I am 41, italian, living in FL since about 5 years now so i do belong to the EST time zone. My passion is building PCs (job and pleasure) and playing games, among other passions I have.. otherwise my g/f kills me ;) I've been playing military games since quite long time. Long background on all the Mechwarrior games, always played online in a military way, involviing massive tactical game and team play. Then involved on flight sims as Falcon 4 (all the expansions "after-market") and Lock-On (till latest update). In the last year and something I've been active member ((and i still am) of TAW on the GRAW 2 division, focused on COOP maps. I am starting a strong interest for ArmA 2 and i want to find a group where maturity, strategy, traiining and Teamplay are not only nice words on a business card but are real and applied every day, on every meeting. It looks to me ArmA 2 cannot be a game where players act as lone wolves, it makes no sense. I am looking for a team that really applies strategy and full teamplay. Don't get me wrong, I still like TAW and the group I play with is made of great guys. Unfortunately there iis nothing like "structured" traiining, no team operations.. everything is left to a siingle initiative, "run 'n gun". I am tired of it and i m tired of GRAW 2 which is no more a challange for me. I do not have ArmA2 yet, because I want to see if exist the kind of team I m looking for before I spend 50 bucks on another game. I 've been burnt a couple of times recently, buying games then were not exactly what I was looking for. So, now I have some questions for you guys.: What is your style? Do you have training sessions (I will need training for this game, which sounds quite "simulative" and i want to learn from who is willing to teach) ? Do you follow at least a basic of military organization during a mission? How do you consider yourself when compared to other teams playing ArmA ?
