    Test Mission

Any time you see me on, come grab me. Happy to help test.
  2. 1. In the NVIDIA Control panel set Max pre rendered frames to 8 (eight) in the Advanced 3d settings for global or ArmA 2. 2. In the NVIDIA Control panel disable Physx acceleration: Control Panels > NVIDIA PhysX control panel > Settings > switch to NO PHysx acceleration ! > click on "OK" Right click on desktop > NVIDIA Control Panel > Set Physx configuration > Select "Disabled" > Click on "Apply" * this works mainly for 260 and newer GPU series resulting in performance boosts in ARMA 2 , yet some 9800/8800 users experiencing smoother gameplay 3. NVIDIA SLI owners can gain additional performance by using EVGA SLI enhancer http://www.evga.com/articles/00463/Default.asp more info and feedback about EVGA SLI enhancer here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=76369 4. VISTA (64b) users may get way faster/smoother framerate in windowed mode with 186.18 drivers 5. Force VSYNC off in drivers ---
  3. Domains are fun and profitable if ya do it right...
  4. So, here is what ya do... create an OFP2 style page, slap it on the server with Google Ad Sense ads on it and put some links on it to your ofp2modding pages and I will set the nameservers for it, for any of those domains you might want to use. Use the Google Adsense earnings to help pay for Sparta goodies like game servers and bandwidth and so on... consider it a donation to the cause...
  5. Just for fun I regged OFP2HQ.COM OFP2MISSIONS.COM OFP2MODS.COM PLANETOFP2.COM Yay for domain fun...
  6. Good analysis Cy... I could be way off here, but I am finding that the FPS number that Fraps shows me has very little to do with the performance of the game, as I am playing. Ive gotten some fairly low FPS numbers..like in the 8-10 range and the game still runs smoothly most of the time. Not sure I would get too hung up on FPS numbers as a performance indicator. The Sparta server seems to be running pretty solidly though....I had one period of extreme stutter last night, and none since. I have both resolutions set to 1680x1050 (for the same reasons Cy outlined) and I am happy with those settings.
  7. Meh... a couple suggestions and a little direction and you were on track...hope you enjoy it as much as we do...
  8. Single Player does run low frame rates. Try it on Multiplayer.. the game is optimize to give better performance in MP.
  9. You need the user version. The SDK is the developers kit.
  10. Quick Update: The ArmA2 download is now live and available on Direct2drive. I am downloading as we speak... Woot!
  11. http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directxdownload.html 92MB...took me 80 seconds to download. Enjoy.
  12. For those who may be interested, it looks like ArmA2 (which I pre-ordered) is in the process of being set up at D2D for download today. The download link in my account has become active in the last hour or so, but it still opens a 404 page. Seems like it should be available within an hour or two....
  13. Whatever floats your boat Ath... hate to see you miss out on a great game and good times with your fellow Spartans because of a 2 minute download and install. Perhaps OFP2 will be more to your expectations. That is very good news T.... glad to hear you will be able to run with us in ArmA2...looking forward to seeing you in-game.
  14. Umm... the audio file in question is part of the DX9 installation and does not come with the DX10 installation. Thus, if you dont have DX9 you wont have the file. Has nothing to do at all with whether or not the game is DX10 compatible or not, the file was not part of DirectX10.
  15. Not much more I can add to this.. well said Zath. Deepest condolences to you Dogface.
  16. I would agree with your assessment, Halli. I found the game to be intolerably 'bouncy' in Single player. However, Dai suggested a few tweaks to both graphic and game options that may help. 1. Turn off/down the Head Bob in Game Options. There is a slider you can turn this off with. This really smoothed out the game and also seemed to help with the awful movement blur in the game. 2. Adjust the game and 3d resolutions so that they are the correct value for your monitor. 3. Turning options off and lowering video settings may actually work against your video card. Dont assume that lower is necessarily better. I turned on anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering and the result was a much better looking and feeling game.. your mileage may vary.
  17. Yes the Demo is officially released and available at a demo downloading site near you. http://files.filefront.com/ArmA+2+Playable...;/fileinfo.html http://gamershell.com http://rapidshare.com/users/LRSUL6 http://computergames.ro/en/downloads/viewi...rma-2-demo.html http://www.v2.fi/pelit/tiedostot/947/ARMA-2/ http://games.on.net/file/27690/ArmA_II_Demo http://www.gameswelt.at/downloads/demos/14...A_2_-_Demo.html http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/14657/ArmA+2+Demo BTW a couple of people so far have had a launch error with the demo: "Demo failed to launch, X3DAudio1_6.dll was not found" You need to make sure you have the latest Directx 9 Redistributable installed: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en DirectX10 does NOT contain the file ArmA is looking for. Also available as a torrent so you may have better luck going that route. http://legittorrents.info
  18. Happy Birthday Sneak! And a pinch to grow an inch....
  19. Been downloading from D2D and other sources for a couple of years now... never had a bad experience to speak of. Games always downloaded, updates were easy to get, if I want to re-install I just go back to my account and re-download. I have links for every game Ive purchased. Game codes are permanently attached to my account so I can always activate and register them. Pretty easy and convenient, at least for me...

    Ready to go

Heheh... the game I can help with... bills aint my department...
  21. Checked the Got Game Entertainment site (The new NA publishers) and they list 'July 2009' as the release date, so July 7th sounds right. However, that would appear to be the retail boxed version. Digital purchases all seem to still be saying the 26th. Keepin fingers crossed...
  22. Posted yesterday on BIS forums: Name : Steam Price : 47,99? Availability : Worldwide Delivery : N/A (Digital) Date : June 26th North America, June 29th EU, June 30th ROTW. Notes :Spoiler: So at least the Steam version is out Friday. Havent seen a single indicator on the ArmA2 or BIS websites that July 7th is the date.
  23. Demo is slated for release at 2pm GMT tomorrow (thursday). This from the BIS forums: "Demo release is currently looking like 3PM CET tomorrow (that's 2pm GMT and some other times in some other countries). "
