  1. Ah, problem solved, as always the simplest solutions are the best. £1.46 http://www.amazon.co.uk/3-5mm-Speaker-and-...p_ob_ce_title_0
  2. Ah right, exact same as the box I have here then. I've googled for ages and cannot find a source for a 9 pin DIN to a 3.5mm audio jack connector. I think I came across something on ebay, but it was £16! I'll hunt around some more.
  3. The medusa one uses a round DIN kind of connector to the headphones, so a normal set of headphones won't plug into it. So it looks exactly the same as the one Hallie has posted except this one does not have a standard socket for headphones, it has a big round DIN kind of socket. Other than that, it would have been perfect, yes. So either I need to find just the control box that has standard sockets, or some kind of fancy connector that will let me connect the standard headphones jack to the DIN socket on my current box. Edit... maybe this is what I need
  4. Okay I got my headset today but now I am confused about the connections. With my medusa 5.1 set there was a breakout box, so the wires from the 5.1 speakers went into the breakoutbox, then out again into the back of the soundcard, plus a cable to the headset. Now without that, my speakers are plugged Green/Black/Yellow into the rear of the soundcard, so where do I put the green headset cable? Right now it's looking like I have to choose whether to have the headset OR the speakers plugged in, can't I have both anymore? How do you guys/gals have your headsets wired up?
  5. Damn I think this game is going to force a GPU upgrade ahead of schedule.
  6. Sounds good to me, checked a youtube review, looks good - removable mic? I like that idea. Ordered from Amazon.
  7. My 5.1 medusa set just broke , so what do you guys use or recommend? I like the price of those creative ones in the above post, anything else to recommend>?
  8. Is THAT what that is?! It arrived in the mail
  9. Mine is a mess at the moment. I prefer a tidy area like Dai Sans, but over time it just builds up to, uhm, this Click for high rez. It really is a mess, broken router, cable,HD, empty box, pens, screwdriver, bloody shocking state of affairs. I should really tidy it, hang, on, is that WTCC on telly right now... gotta go.
  10. I played DiRT yesterday, you know the big campaign screen with the pyramid of challenges, I am about have way up that.... gonna see if I can finish it...
  11. Me too, I got so far then could not progress - damn I wish I did not have a BBQ to go to tonight. How sad is that.
  12. Holy cow. That looks amazing. I had been wondering what could they do for the next DiRT/GRID because to me the graphics are already "there", the game looks and runs SWEET. Having watched the video though, you can see water effects and lighting/particle effects and tyre physics coming into it. Too cool. Pretty easy to anticipate those effects are going to be a pretty major drain on a PC though - this could be the game to force a lot of upgrades! Who would have thought it would be a car racing game that started to push processing to the max. Thanks for the info, looks ace!
  13. Thanks Panic I had 3 options in there, the first one was selected. Primary Audigy Logitech So with primary selected it should have been okay, I would have thought. I swicthed it to Audigy anyway, and it solved the problem right away. Thank you!
  14. I think I have figured out why my teamsepak comms is very noisy, lots of background noise. It's only since I installed the webcam, and a quick check makes it look like the TS comms is being picked up by the webcam, rather than my headset Mic. Anyone else come across this? Got a solution?
  15. I dunno, I only watched that one video, but to say the GFX are better than GRAW 2 is way off from what I've seen. The models, the environs, the smoke, the fire, those are all noticeably better done in GRAW2. For a tactical shooter it has buckets more to offer than GRAW 2, maybe the AI is better (lets hope!!) but in the GFX department, the jury is out and I'm expecting a GRAW2 result. And when you look at those frame rates. sorry, but the gfx engine is not delivering.
  16. There's a fundamental problem using USB headsets. Unfortunately I cannot recall the exact issue, so I'm not being much help, but I had to stop using my USB set and use the standard jack headset a while back. It'll come to me..... Oh yeh, that was it, a USB headset will bypass your soundcard! Here's the comments I sent a supplier after testing a set of USBs.
  17. Cool, thanks for the info, this will be tomorrow nights project then!
  18. Good idea, I'll try the single monitor first.
  19. It's an PCI-e 8800 with dual DVI outputs.
  20. The spare monitor I have is an analogue one, but I think I have one of these lying in a drawer Would it be possible to work a dual monitor system using that, or would both monitors need to be digitial?
  21. Did you not see Sams? Gotta love that scrabble set in there, major kudos.
  22. Floyd, how does that dual monitor thing work? I have a spare LCD so I am interested. I mean, if you are gaming GRID on one, can you do desktop stuff on the other? How does the mouse become active on one monitor or the other... confused!
  23. Interesting thing to note though, they have specifically dropped "COD" for the title, it's only being advertised as "Modern Warfare 2". I can't think of the rational behind it, but it's obviously been a conscious decision quite high up the chain.
