Athlon64~SPARTA~
Did you install the software that came with it? Did you go to control panel and find it in game controlers? Did you calibrate it in propertys? Some times theres profiles that you can set up to make the controller kick in when a certian game starts up as well. Athlon64~SPARTA~
The best thing i can tell you is to look at all the screens on it to make sure to save game profiles.

Batwing~SPARTA~
So, usually when something odd happens on PCs, the first question you should pose is "what happened on this machine since last time this feature was working fine?" You should start narrowing down possible events and reasons why something is going wrong. Possible checklist: 1 - When was last time it was working fine? 2 - What did you do on your computer since that time, related to installing new drivers, remopving drivers, any antivirus scan which reported unknown programs as threat?(false positives) 3 - If you can focus on a date when your PC was working fine, it would be possible to you to revert at that date using a System Restore to the date? Double check what programs would beaffected by this decision before you perform it. However, the restore point can be used as a test (check if then it works fine) but can also be reverted and annulled (in case it fix the problem and then create other 3 new unexpected problems) 4 - If you can simply solve with a restore point, good for you. Now keep monitoting what you are doing, because if it was a good faith "update" screwing your config, as soon as you update again, it will do it again, but at least now you know the culprit. 5 - If you cannot solve by Restore point, try to retrieve your Joystick profiles and back'em up. Try to force your system to recognize your joy for PC and not as PS3. If that fix the issue fine, otherwise, unistall all Joy software and drivers and reistall from scratch and copy over your profiles.
