Cross-post: The New Mossberg 500

I picked this up about a week and a half ago and have failed at posting a shot or two on the forums until this morning. Durka had been fielding some questions about bug out bags, weapons, etc and Phisher brought up his Mossberg as a personal defense weapon. I agree that a shotgun is probably one of the most, if not the very most, affective anti-personnel weapon for close range. Here's a link to the thread and my post about the Mossberg 500A with the Sidewinder drum kit.

Damn Medic you go all out don't you? lol. How does that kick with only the pistol grip? I got mine with the regular stock because if I need to hold it at waist-level for some insane reason, the way my wrist is situated on the handle, it can keep the recoil somewhat at bay.

It really isn't bad, but I prefer a standard stock to help aim and be more consistent with the way I hold a long gun.

Got to love the Mossy. The scabbard is usually attached to the back of my Bug Out Bag. The stock is a tremendous help, I don't know how you shoot that thing without it. My hands aren't small but when I shot some 2"3/4 slugs with just the pistol grip I thought I was going to break my hands.

That's some gun porn if I ever saw it. Very sexy and slick in the scabbard.

The scabbard is king od useless for me though since the gun doesn't hold any rounds in the tube. So, I'd have to insert the drum before I could go to town, if need be.
