I remember going through some of the Mormon farm communities years back and seeing some of the most amazingly well kept properties I've ever come across. If you did happen to see a family that owned a car they would remove all of the the trim, hubcaps, and paint anything shiny a flat black. Most, at that time, were still using horse drawn carriages to get around with most farm work done by hand.....not much time left for nonsense but wow that's a lot of work.
