  1. Here is a great firing range that I have used in Arma2. Kronzky's Moving Range Credit to Dai-San for first bringing it to my attention on the forums. There are some very nice features with this range. You can have an AI that walks, which allows you to practice the amount of lead you need for a moving target. There is also a "bullet cam" mode. With this option, after you fire, the camera will take the path of the bullet. You are able to get a better visualization on the trajectory of the bullet and make adjustments. You will also get a report on how much damage was inflicted with each bullet hit. This will help with regards to how the range of the target effects the damage caused by different weapon systems. The documentation is not the best I have to admit. You have to utilize the radio commands, '0' on your keyboard (not the numpad zero), to access the different features. I have not yet tried your range yet Zeno, so I can not give a comparison. Buzz.
  2. My suggestions for AIR DOM. First and foremost remove the opening AI attack. Along with this remove the majority of the AA assets all clumped together in a single spot. I would also recommend removing the majority of the AI at the base. I have always suspected that the cause of many of the issues on Air Dom was because of these things. Second, remove all OPFOR equipment, KA-52s, from the base. A good idea may be to have a Blue Air Dom and a Red Air Dom mission. In blue we are able to use all of the US equipment and fight against the Russian equipment list. With Red Air Dom we switch it up. The base will spawn a full Russian equipment list, MI-24's ( All Variations ), KA-52, MI-8s, SU's etc, while the AO's are populated with US equipment and assets. I do hope that there are no restrictions placed on the Air Dom server in regards to mods. There are a few mods that I enjoy that increase the realism for me with the attack helicopters. I do not use the "magic missile" that is the default guided missiles in game. I have to switch to the gunner seat and keep my cross hair on the target until impact. I am a player that enjoys playing with the "toys", this includes armor assets as well as attack helicopters. What I really enjoy the most though is when the equipment is crewed by multiple players. I am just as happy driving a tusk or flying a cobra as I am pulling the trigger. It is not about scoring points to me, it is the team work and cooperation of 2 or more players. That said, I have always been under the impression that one of the main purposes of the Air Dom server is to provide a "play ground" for individuals to focus on the Air side of the game. It was never meant replace the normal Dom. I will keep a watch on this thread and add any other ideas that come to mind. But I would strongly suggest that what ever direction Air Dom takes in its evolution, Make as small of changes as possible and evaluate. Just look at the development arc that has taken place with the "normal" domination server. Happy New Year, Buzz
  3. Kal, I was wondering if you have removed that side mission on the Sarahni Domination mission?
  4. I just tried to log on to Sahrani. It's status is listed as "creating". I am able to log on and vote myself as admin. I have tried to use the #restart command but nothing happens. I then used the #missions command, on both servers ( Sahrani and Air Dom) the only missions that are available are the default missions. I do not see any domination missions available. I am not sure if this is an issue on my side, or if the missions were over written when updated. Thanks in advance, Buzz
  5. Is sparta going to update all servers to 1.05? i.e. Sarahni, airdom, etc? Also I see that 1/2 of the servers are 1.05 right now, but seem to be pw locked.

  8. KalXen, I played around a little bit on your beta build of Sahrani Domination last night when you logged out. You are still not able to reset your repair ability when playing an engineer class. I was able to use my initial repair, but after that I was required to have a salvage truck next to me. I walked on foot around all areas of the base, including the area to the North where the bonus vehicles spawn and the area just to the west of it. I was not able to find any area that I could reset the ability. I was not aware of any other changes that you did make so I did not test anything else. In the future if you need me to test any changes, could you please provide a change log listing what has been updated / changed so I can specifically test them. Thanks in advance, Buzz
  9. I have been playing on the Sparta Sahrani domination server quite a bit lately. I have noticed an issue on this map with domination. On the US domination west server there is a red box that outlines the base area. When ever an enemy gets close to the base crossroads gives a warning as well when enemy enter the base. On the Sahrani map there is no red outline and no warnings are given until fixed assets are destroyed, i.e. service areas. You also can not reset your engineering ability when ever you return to base. Once you use your initial repair you are only able to repair a piece of equipment if you have a salvage truck close to you. I am do not know anything about the scripting involved to set up domination. But I am guessing that on the Sahrani map that the area of the base has not been established in the script. Another suggestion for the Sahrani map, I have already mentioned this to Zeno. The rewards given for the side missions are air assets only. On the list of rewards is the UH-1Y. Seeing as how the default chopper 1 and 2 are UH-1Y's, could these be removed from the reward list and perhaps replaced by some ground assets such as a HUSK or other heavy armor piece. Regarding the UH-1Y, we have attempted to use the laser designator on it to mark targets but have had no success. I have not tried it on the normal domination server so I can not confirm that it works there or not. If anyone has any experience utilizing it successfully would you be able to give insight on it, or perhaps log on to Sahrani sometime when we have at least 3 players on TS to confirm how it works?     GMJ Sight Adjustment Armaholic link This is a client side mod, so it would only have to be on the approved list on the Domination servers and not required for everyone to be able to play. It allows elevation and windage adjustment on all weapons. It includes a range card with settings for the M-24, DMR, M-107. You can also create your own range card for other weapons. I have been playing with it on the Sahrani server and it does exactly what it says. It is very nice to dial in the site for the specific range. IMHO this mod would not create any type of game play balance issues. Anyone that plays on Sahrani please give this mod a try and provide feedback. I think it would be a great addition to the US domination server as it focuses on infantry weapon systems.

    I have not tried this mod yet. It is GDT Helicopter Weapons mod. Description: This addon changes the use of the helicopter weapons for the AH1Z, Ka52 and Mi24. - Pilot can use the gunner weapon optics when gunner is AI or nonexistent. - Auto lock on on vehicles for guided missiles deactivated. There are two fire modes for guided missiles: 1. Manual guidance. 2. Laser guidance with Laser-Seeker for lock on on Laser Designator targets. This addon is client side only. GDT Mod Helicopter Weapons Armaholic link Anyone familiar with real life hellfire-A weapon systems will appreciate this mod. The hellfire-A's are not fire and forget weapons. They are laser guided. The target has to be painted by a laser designator, either on the launch air craft or by another designator. Using this mod will require either the target be painted by another player, or to be continuously painted by the launch craft until impact. It would require more player team work and co-ordination. Another great feature of this mod would be the ability to switch to the gunners optics from the pilot seat if you do not have a gunner with you. The last thing I would like to point out about this mod is that it is client side only, so it would not be a requirement for all players to have in order to log on a public server. Thank you in advance for consideration. Buzz edit: I played around with the mod in the armory. It does require CBA, event extensions to operate. It performs as advertised. Hellfires require the gunner to keep the cross hairs on the target until impact. It also allows the pilot to switch to gunner view if there is no gunner or AI. This mod may be a good consideration for Air Dom.
