Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. and for everyone else, the recommended specs: Recommended System Requirements OS ? Windows XP / Vista Processor ? Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Memory ? 2.0 GB RAM GPU ? NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar GameSpot follows the official Crysis system requirements announcement with an interview with Crytek CEO and Executive Producer Cevat Yerli. This interview goes into detail on the system requirements with specific hardware related questions. GS: When we talked last year it was said that Crysis will ship with 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Is 64-bit still in the box? Does it offer any kind of performance improvements as predicted? CY: Yes 64-bit in general runs better than 32-bit. In fact I would recommend gamers run 64-bit only under very-high configurations. We ship both 32-and-64-bit out of box.
  4. 32 Player full server 1.8mb down 350kb up in 2 mins on server of 32 players initial download before start of round was a 6 second burst of 70-80 k 120 seconds for 1800 k is 1800 divided by 120 or 180 divided by 12 = 15k/sec average down 120 sec for 350 divided by 120 same as 35 / 12 = 2.9 K/sec upband average. facts at Beta 3 test.
  5. This thread is going nowhere KDC you start by asking if it's worth paying the extra £45 for the 1024Mb version of the HD2900pro, if your willing to go to that price then like others have said, go for the same priced card Nvidia 8800GTS 640mb http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....=56&subcat= Leadtek GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £189.99 (£223.24) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....=56&subcat= OcUK ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) £204.99 (£240.86) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....=56&subcat= Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 1024MB GDDR4 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (21119-01-40R) £199.99 (£234.99) nVidia 8800GTS 640mb
  6. Add any you think of but, they should only be the basic core programs that we all use & require by default. This thread is not about the pros and cons of applications but a list of things to remember. So for example: Windows OS (XP or Vista) Service packs (updates all) Internet explorer 7+ Firefox 2.0+ fire fox add ons (uk dictionary) Antivirus, firewall (like norton internet security) Microsoft office or open office outlook or outlook express Teamspeak msn messenger live skype xfire packing & unpacking Winzip winrar 7 zip winace par2

  8. can't believe there still going on this one.... Double R rating !
  9. 2 things, the bull shit that a 9800 will come out this year for sub $600 US and second, you want to build a system for crysis but you sacrifice the main component (8800GTX) for a sound card & PSU. Get a lesser PSU and use onboard sound. The CPU & GPU are the 2 most important items. 9800 for sub $600 Nov 07 (vapour ware) lets see in 45 days, 22 Nov 07 ? to recap 8900 GTx ? $600 lets see
  10. good move, infact I just copy the whole directory from program files out. ;)
  11. I ran it sooth on latest drivers on a 7900GTX and single core Intel Pentium 4 3.8Ghz system at 1024x769. 20-30 FPS on the BETA not fully optimized.
  12. KDC says the ATi HD2900 Pro is far cheaper than the nVidia 8800 GTX, lets see..... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ UK NVIDIA OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM £254.99 (£299.61) inc VAT UK ATI Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 1024MB GDDR4 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (21119-01-40R) £199.99 (£234.99) inc VAT UK Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 512MB £149.99 ex vat (£176.24 inc vat at 17.5%) http://www.newegg.com/ -&- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ctCode=10005094 USA NVIDIA MSI NX8800GTX-T2D768E-HD OC GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail # Your Price:$509.99 # Mail-In Rebate: $20.00 # Price after rebate(s):$489.99 ATI HIS Hightech H290PR512DVN-R Radeon HD 2900PRO 512MB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail Your Price:$279.99 Yes America is unfair $200 difference. I say save on your memory and go GTX ! You won't look back. if you go 29xx pro you will always be thinking about it.
  13. Well welcome to the big boys club. As for waiting for anything that does not exist and if it did you wouldn't buy it because of the price $1000 I would not go for that. The 89xx nVidia will not be cheap and the price of the 88xx GTX will not just drop, only lower end cards will loose price. Zeno's tips are all well founded. Like he mentioned cheaper high end 6400 memory is the order of the day. I thought OCZ reaper HPC was the cheapest but I found, OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK) 800MHz RAM Speed, CAS 4-4-4-15 Timings, 1.8-2.1v VDIMM, Lifetime Warranty with OCZ. 14. is you video card hot? do you overclock your card? try booting safe mode into windows (f8) at bleep when booting, if it happens then, your Video ram may be bad.

  16. Another thread on all you need to know, watch this space. To sum up, CRYSIS at the time of writing is in beta 3 mode, the learning curve is moderate to slightly tricky but the rewards are big. I just got done with a 2 hour session playing alongside adder360, it was a blast, we learned so much that we decided to write a general how to thread and tricks and tips thread. We hope you love it too and when it is released we will help everyone that has problems with game play. ;)
  17. Could be XP drivers are more mature... ;)

New Client - Release Candidate 3! Due to the load of fixes, improvements and balancing changes we have been working on for this patch we decided to release a whole new client instead of just a patch installer. The new client is called "Crysis_MP_Beta_Release_3.exe" and includes the whole Patch #1 & #2 fixes and updates. 2. Uninstall the game Before you download and install the new client please completely uninstall the game from your hard drive. Also delete the Crysis_MP_DEMO profile folder which can be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\My Games\ It is important that you do follow these instructions to not encounter any major issues when installing the new Crysis Beta client version. 3. Users should fully uninstall and then reinstall. - Sometimes player ragdolls have missing heads - Players may sometimes take damage or die when colliding in tight spaces such as doorways. - Asynchronous shader compiling defaulted to 1 Explanation: We implemented an incomplete shader cache to figure out where the shader compilation issues are appearing the most. This way we can address them and fix them, but for that we would require your support. When joining a game for the first time you will encounter uncompiled shaders to appear as yellow replace-me textures. In addition to that you see a small teapot in the left upper corner of your screen. This symbol shows that shaders are currently compiling. Usually the yellow replace-me textures should go away after playing an intensive session with lots of action going on. In the case you encounter continuous framerate drops and still compiling shaders after playing up to two full matches in a row please report a bug and use the bug tracker we provide: http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/crysi.../bugsubmit.aspx .
