It doesn't look like you have direct control of units, but I could have watched the gameplay wrong. I tried the beta and wasn't impressed. Well, I was at the start, but once my base was up and running, troops moving about, there was zip for direct control, One AI tank would sit idle while their buddy tank was hosed. It's mostly click-and-hope that the AI 'sees' its foe and carries along after your initial targeting. Not for me. Company of Heroes was much better.
