Zathrus~SPARTA~ Posted October 14, 2008 Share Posted October 14, 2008 Zeno after some pain and anguish with my first black car; I was able to prevent water marks, using a leather shammy as follows: As your final dry off, drag the shammy across the surface slowly keeping about half of it in the air with the angle of the pull. Drag the shammy completely off of an edge. This can also be done on vertical surfaces by rolling the shammy to shorten its length. When possible drag it horizontally. I used a separate shammy for the bottom third of vertical sufaces to provide the best protection for horizontal/top panel surfaces. Wring out the shammy often but keep it damp as usual. I was amazed at how little discoloration rapidly became a disaster of scratches so keep a close eye on it. I had to replace shammy's often as eventually even using a power washer on it didn't remove everything. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
