  2. Eight sat-nav blunders

April 2006: Drivers following their sat-nav's instructions through the aptly named village of Crackpot found themselves on a tiny track that was perilously close to the edge of a 100ft cliff. People trying to reverse out of trouble were described as getting 'dangerously close' to the edge.

October 2006: A German driver drove his sports utility vehicle onto a building site, after being told by his sat-nav that he should 'turn right now,' managing to end up destroying a lavatory. The sat-nav was actually instructing him to turn at the next junction and not immediately.

November 2006: A woman was forced to dodge oncoming traffic for 14 miles after her sat-nav sent her the wrong way up the A3(M) dual carriageway between Portsmouth and London. Police say it was a miracle that nobody was injured.

December 2006: An ambulance tasked with moving a male mental patient from King George Hospital in Ilford to Mascalls Park near Brentwood, a journey of around 12 miles - instead ended up at Warley in Manchester, some 200 miles away from their destination. The patient was apparently undisturbed by the events.

January 2007: A 52-year-old woman from Dorking was waiting at a level crossing at Norman's Bay near Eastbourne when her sat-nav told her to turn left. She proceeded to drive her Fiesta onto the track, blocking train services between Brighton and Hastings.

February 2007: Hampshire County Council erect signs to tell HGV drivers following their sat-nav systems that their 'shortcut' was not suitable for big vehicles. Residents of Beacon Hill Lane were reporting damage to their properties as trucks tried to reverse out of the tight road.

March 2007: Following her sat-nav's instructions, a lady drove her 100k Mercedes down a steep road into the River Sence in Leicestershire, ignoring signs that indicated the track was not suitable for motor vehicles. The water swept the car downstream, as the 28-year-old tried to escape by kicking out a window and eventually forced here way out just before the Merc was fully submerged.

March 2007: 60 pupils and teachers were driven through rush-hour traffic in London to Hampton Court in Islington, instead of Hampton Court Palace, where they were supposed to be visiting on a school trip, after the driver missed out an all-important word on his sat-nav.

  3. IPB Image

Sadly the Recommended test failed because it wants a Core 2 Duo or AMD equivalent and I am running a Pentium D 3.00 Ghz

    Medic

im running a pentium D 3.00 Ghz and it accpected me it orignly rejected me because i orignly had 1 GB of ram but i have 2 now and it accpeted me. im also im running an ATI x1650 pro 512mb. you can answer the questions again on a differnt broswer to get accpeted. (i used internet explora first and fire fox next, but you will need to start a new game spy accunt/profile or it will automatly reject you.)

  4. As I start playing the Beta ill add the controls for the things not covered by the tutorial in game:

Lay Claymore: Crouch, Look down Then red X should dispare and you can lay claymore.

Change suit mode: Default hold the centre mouse button (or V) and use the mouse to highlight the different icons. (modes can be toggled using 4 but i found this dose not work all the time.)

Bottom right- Cloak (invisible) Energy of suit runs out quicker when you move + fire, compared to standing still.

Middle right- Power (extra strength) gives extra power to jump higher + punch harder.

Top- Speed (go faster) lets you sprint faster and swim faster.

Middle Left- Armour (default) you are automatically on this mode and gives defence from attack (and falls)

Bottom Left- Weapon add-ons (scope, silencer etc.) this lets you change the add-ons for your weapons; (this can also be accessed via the C key and then press again when done.)

The F key: you use this to Climb ladders, get in vehicles, pick up weapons and open doors. Generally when you get an Inco by your weapon sight you hit F and it’ll do the action.

Switching seats in Vehicles: You can use the number keys to switch seats

    1- Drivers seat.

    2- Gunners seat.

    3- Toggle passenger’s seats.

Melee attack: hit T to hit some one with the but of youre gun.

Change wepons fire mode: use X to toggle between fire modes (this includes a grenade launcher if attached.) for hand thrown grenade hit G. and H toggles grenades.

Parachute: at least a 50M jump is required to use the parachute, and a parachute will be needed. When falling you will see a picture of a backpack just below the centre of your screen then when coming close to the ground hit space to deploy the parachute then you can glide about using you’re movement keys, happy diving.

  5. I decided to do some research surrounding the 3GB ram problem on Vista 32 bit, and I believe this also applies on all 32 bit systems. But windows has problems detecting ram on the computer between 3 and 4 GB.

So if you was going to install 4gb of ram (This includes your graphics cards) you would not be able to use all of this, so you would find the limit between 3-4gigs but windows has put in a cap at 3.12GB of ram.

Apparently this can?t be fixed completely fixed by using a 64 bit system because the problem still exist between the 3 and 4 GB mark just the loss is improved and there is more loss of about 1 GB when runing a full 8GB.

I got a lot of info from here http://www.dansdata.com/askdan00015.htm but found some bits from other places.

Hope this is helpful please feel free to add to what I found out, this is my first post so hope it was easy enough to read.
